GDT Price Index reflects a change in prices of dairy products in New Zealand. The indicator calculation covers the weighted average percentage of price changes for 9 types of products sold at the Global Dairy Trade auction, which is held twice a month.

The Global Dairy Trade Price Index is considered as a leading indicator of New Zealand's trade balance, because income from exports grows when commodity prices rise.
