Pulsar Panel MT5 is an on-chart trade manager for MetaTrader 5: plan an order with draggable entry, Stop Loss (SL) and Take Profit (TP) lines, send it with up to four TP levels, break-even and trailing stop, manage positions, guard your daily loss and review your statistics.
Pulsar Panel is an Expert Advisor (EA) that draws its panels directly on the chart. There is no external application to install and no Dynamic Link Library (DLL).
Important - running conditions. Pulsar Panel works on live and demo charts. It does nothing in the Strategy Tester, so the Market demo cannot show it: please see the screenshots. Algo Trading must be enabled in the terminal and in the EA's settings ("Common" tab), and the account must allow automated trading. Intermediate TPs, break-even and trailing stop are executed by the EA, so the terminal must stay open; a Virtual Private Server (VPS) is recommended for positions left open.
Support is provided only through the comments on this product page and MQL5 private messages.
Overview
A navigation rail opens the trade panel (with its chart planner), Positions, Risk Guard and Statistics, so you keep on screen only what you need.
Trade panel
Prepare and send an order without leaving the chart. A "SIMPLE" / "PRO" switch sets how many options you see, and a tag such as "CLOSE ONLY" appears when the symbol is restricted.
Order types are "MARKET", "LIMIT" and "STOP". The size is set in "Lots", "Value" (notional value in account currency) or "% equity" (notional value as a percentage of equity). Money-based sizes are rounded down to the volume step, never up to the minimum lot.
The SL is set in pips (or points), account currency, price or % of equity. With an SL in money or %, the stop is placed where the loss reaches about that amount for the current size, before slippage, gaps and commissions. It is then kept as a distance: change the size and the amount at risk changes with it.
The TP can be split into up to four levels, TP1 to TP4, with presets such as 50/50, 34/33/33 or 25/25/25/25. A level too small to close on its own merges into the next one. A risk line shows "Risk", "Target" and the volume-weighted Risk/Reward (R/R).
Before sending, the panel checks Algo Trading, the Risk Guard state, the stops level and, for market orders, free margin. Orders carry the comment "Pulsar Panel" and your magic number. There is no confirmation dialog: a repeat click within 700 milliseconds is ignored and a press held over 3 seconds sends nothing.
Exit management
"PRO" mode adds break-even ("BE", trigger and offset) and trailing stop ("TR"). They apply to every position on the chart symbol carrying the Pulsar Panel magic number, including positions opened earlier, and stay active in "SIMPLE" mode.
Only the SL and the furthest TP are placed at the broker. The EA runs intermediate TPs (market closes), break-even and trailing stop, checking every 250 milliseconds. If Algo Trading is off, the status line shows "Exits on hold". Refused actions are retried at growing intervals, up to once a minute. Exit settings survive a terminal restart.
Chart planner
See the trade on the chart before you send it: dashed entry, SL and TP lines with a risk zone and a reward zone. Drag any level to move it; dragging the entry away from the market makes it a limit or stop order, and back makes it a market order. On-chart "+SL", "+TP" and "x" buttons add or remove levels. Labels show lots, money, % of equity and R/R.
Positions
Follow and close trades in one place. Cards show "FLOATING P/L" (profit and loss), "EXPOSURE" and "WIN / LOSS". Filters: "ALL" (every position and pending order on the account, manual and other EAs included), the chart symbol, "PULSAR" (the Pulsar Panel magic number) and "PENDING".
Hovering a row reveals "25", "50", "75" (partial close in %), "BE" (stop to entry) and "X" (close or delete). The basket buttons "WINS", "LOSSES", "BUYS", "SELLS", "50 %", "PEND" and "CLOSE ALL" act on exactly what the filter shows, with no confirmation dialog. With the default "ALL" filter, "CLOSE ALL" closes every position and deletes every pending order on the account, other EAs' included.
Risk Guard
Risk Guard refuses new orders from Pulsar Panel once a daily loss limit is reached. It starts hidden and switched off. Settings:
- "Daily loss" in account currency or % of the day's starting balance (starting equity with "EQUITY"); default 2 %.
- "Buffer" (default 10 %), so the lock starts before the real limit.
- "Profit lock" (optional): also locks at a profit target, with the same "On breach" action.
- "Measure" on the whole account: "BALANCE" (today's closed plus floating P/L) or "EQUITY" (against the equity at the reset, if the terminal was running then).
- "On breach": "BLOCK" or "FLATTEN".
- "Reset" hour on the "SERVER", "UTC" (Coordinated Universal Time) or "CE(S)T" (Central European Time) clock; the last two follow your computer clock.
A gauge shows the amount left and the state, such as "ARMED" or "LOCKED". On a lock you get an alert, and Pulsar Panel orders are refused until the next reset. "BLOCK" also deletes Pulsar Panel pending orders; "FLATTEN" closes every position and deletes every pending order on the account, retrying until it is flat. A lock caused by a settings change only blocks.
While locked, settings are frozen and "UNLOCK FOR TODAY" needs a 2-second hold. Settings and lock are shared by all charts of the account and survive a restart.
Statistics
Review your history by period ("DAY" to "ALL") and by magic number, in full or half screen. Key figures: "NET P/L", "WIN RATE", "PROFIT FACTOR" and "MAX DRAWDOWN", plus in full screen "SHARPE" (needs 30 days with a closed trade), "CAGR" (Compound Annual Growth Rate, needs 90 days), "CALMAR" and "VOLATILITY". Without enough history a figure shows a dash.
The "ACCOUNT CURVE" is the balance from closed deals, in currency or %; there is no equity curve. "TRADE PROFILE", "MONTHLY RETURNS" (full screen) and "BY MAGIC NUMBER" complete the view: click a magic row to filter it, or its name to rename the strategy.
Interface
The rail reopens any closed panel. Narrow, it shows icons; the gear icon unfolds it with labels and the settings "Glow", "Grid", "Lines" and "Size", and it stays unfolded until you click "Collapse". Panels can be folded, closed and dragged. Their size follows the Windows display scaling; the "Size" entry changes it at once, from 80 % to 200 %, and the "Panel size" input sets it too. The Astral (dark) and Light themes switch from the rail. "Glow" sets a soft neon light behind the panels: "ROSE" (default), "SUNSET", "VIOLET", "AURORA" or "OFF"; on the Light theme it is only a faint tinted shadow. These choices are remembered for every chart. All texts are in English.
By default the chart colors follow the panel theme, with a quiet background grid behind the bars whose spacing and line color are set on the rail ("Grid" and "Lines"). This grid replaces MetaTrader's dotted one and is not drawn with "Keep my chart colours". "Chart on foreground" is kept off so the bars never cover the panels. Your chart settings return when the EA is removed.
Inputs
- "Panel theme": "Astral (dark)" (default) or "Light (white / grey)".
- "Chart colours": "Keep my chart colours", "Pulsar Dark", "Pulsar Light" or "Match the panel theme" (default).
- "Panel size": "Auto (Windows display scaling)" (default) or a fixed size from 80 % to 200 %.
- "Magic number (panel trades only)": 202601.
- "Max slippage (points)": 30.
- "Initial panel X, px at 100 % (first run only)": 78.
- "Initial panel Y, px at 100 % (first run only)": 20.
Requirements and limitations
- Risk Guard blocks only orders sent from Pulsar Panel, not manual, One Click Trading, mobile or other EA orders. It works only while the terminal runs and does not guarantee compliance with the rules of any proprietary trading firm.
- The trade panel trades the chart symbol only; automatic break-even and trailing stop apply only to positions with its magic number.
- No lot sizing from a risk percentage: the lot size never adapts to the stop.
- Pending orders are limit or stop orders (no stop-limit), with no expiry date.
- The Positions panel shows up to 10 rows; basket buttons also act on hidden rows.
- The "Levels" item in the rail is marked "SOON" and does nothing in this version.
- Pulsar Panel takes the chart's EA slot: run other EAs on other charts.
Technical details
Pulsar Panel is a compiled EX5 file with no DLL, no WebRequest, no external connection and no data collection. Its state is saved in terminal global variables (PLSR.*) and restored after a restart; deleting them resets the panel, its exit settings and the Risk Guard settings and lock. The only file it writes is MQL5\Files\PulsarPanel_magics.csv (strategy names). It works on hedging, netting and exchange accounts; on netting, a partial close never opens a reverse position.
Pulsar Panel shares its visual design with Pulsar Terminal MT5, by the same developer.
Pulsar Panel is a product of Pulsar Technologies, a trademark of Astralys LLC.
