Overview
Happy Magpie is a professional-grade Expert Advisor (EA) built for the MT4 platforms. It distinguishes itself from traditional grid systems by integrating Fibonacci Pullback logic and Multi-Zone risk management. The EA is designed to navigate market volatility by entering trades only after price action confirms a level's respect, rather than blindly placing orders.
Key Functions
- Pullback Verification Engine: Instead of entering at a "touch," the EA monitors for a Cross + Pullback. It waits for the price to penetrate a Fibonacci level and then re-test it. This "Smart Trigger" significantly reduces the risk of entering during a strong breakout.
- Zonal Lot Management: The EA breaks down the trading range into three distinct zones (Zone 1, 2, and 3). Users can define different lot sizes and maximum order counts for each zone, allowing for a conservative start and a more aggressive recovery if the market moves further against the initial position.
- Stealth Exit System: All profit targets are calculated as Basket Net Profit (inclusive of swaps and commissions). The EA closes the entire basket via market orders once the Target_Money threshold is reached, bypassing traditional server-side TP levels.
- Asymmetric Trend Filter: Includes hardcoded Moving Average filters. It ensures that Buy grids are only initiated in bullish trends and Sell grids in bearish trends, providing a directional safety net.
Trading Strategy
1. The EA first identifies the most recent High and Low within the Fibo Lookback period. It then plots a Buy Entry Level and a Sell Entry Level based on your chosen Fibonacci ratios (e.g., 61.8%).
2. The Entry (The "Double Confirmation")
The strategy follows a strict two-step sequence for the first order:
- Level Violation: The price must cross through the Fibo line (Buy Bid goes below the line).
- Pullback Retest: The trade only triggers when the price returns to touch the line again, provided the price is still on the "correct" side of the Moving Average.
3. The Grid Phase (Recovery)
If the price continues to move against the first trade, the EA begins the Zonal Grid Strategy:
- Zone 1: Small lot sizes to capture minor fluctuations.
- Zone 2: Increased lot sizes to pull the "Average Break-even" price closer to the current market price.
- Zone 3: Final "Defensive" zone with the highest lot sizes but strict caps on total orders.
4. The Exit (Basket Target)
As the grid expands, the EA dynamically updates a Hidden TP Line (Yellow Line on chart). The goal is not to wait for the market to return to the original entry point, but rather to reach a mathematically calculated "Profit Point" where the sum of all orders equals your Target_Money setting.
