Market Sessions Clock is a small panel that shows, at a glance, which markets are open right now and when the next one opens or closes.
How it works
- Four sessions: Sydney, Tokyo, London and New York. Each has its own on/off switch and hours.
- Hours are entered in each market's local time (for example 08:00-17:00 London), and daylight saving is applied automatically for Sydney, London and New York.
- For every session the panel shows Open or Closed, the time left until it closes or until it next opens, and the current local time in that market.
- An optional row shows the trade server time and UTC, which helps when your broker's clock differs from your own.
- The panel updates every second from the computer's UTC clock, so it keeps counting even when no new ticks arrive.
- Sessions that run past midnight are supported. By default no sessions are counted on Saturday and Sunday, which suits forex and CFDs; turn this off for markets that trade every day.
Inputs
- Sessions: on/off and start/end (HHMM) for each market, and the weekend switch.
- Display: local time column, server/UTC row, font size, panel corner.
Limits
- The default hours are typical trading hours, not official exchange schedules, and public holidays are not included.
- The countdown relies on the computer's clock. If the system clock is wrong, the times will be wrong too.
- It only shows times. It does not draw on the chart or give trading signals.
The indicator does not trade.
