Why “HODL”? HODL is one of the most iconic terms in crypto. It originated in 2013 from a famous BitcoinTalk post where a user accidentally wrote “HODLING” instead of “HOLDING.” The typo became a meme and eventually a symbol of holding Bitcoin through volatility instead of panic-selling. HODL Breaker plays on that idea: the EA waits for a breakout, enters the move, and then tries to stay with it instead of exiting at the first small profit.
HODL Breaker is a multi-strategy breakout Expert Advisor for Bitcoin (BTCUSD). It runs 3 independent strategies side by side on a single chart. Each one has its own levels, its own timeframe, its own pending orders and its own risk.
Bitcoin doesn't drift. It sits still for days, then rips through a level and keeps going. HODL Breaker is built for exactly that move: it waits at the level, enters when it breaks, and holds the position while the move plays out. It is not a scalper that grabs a few points and runs.
Breakout first. HODL second. No panic selling in between.
How it works
Each of the three strategies hunts key price levels on Bitcoin independently, each on its own entry timeframe, and places pending stop orders on both sides of the market. When a level breaks, that strategy is already in position. The others keep waiting for their own setups.
Every position walks in wearing a stop-loss. From there it manages itself: automatic take-profit, break-even move, and a built-in trailing stop that lets strong moves run. Pending orders that never trigger expire on their own, so nothing lingers on your chart forever.
Three strategies means three different reads on the same market. Some are patient and wide, some tighter and faster. When one is flat, another may be working. That's the whole point of running them together instead of betting everything on a single set of parameters.
What HODL Breaker is not
Let's get this out of the way, because the crypto-robot corner of the Market is full of it.
- This is not an AI system. No neural network. No "quantum crypto engine." No model "trained on every Bitcoin tick since 2010." HODL Breaker is price levels, pending orders, and arithmetic. Every decision it makes can be traced by hand on a chart.
- No martingale. A loss is a loss. HODL Breaker takes it and moves on. It will never double down to "recover." On Bitcoin's volatility, that's not a strategy, that's a liquidation with extra steps.
- No grid. No stacking positions into a falling market and calling it DCA.
- No 400-parameter config screen that needs a PhD to read.
Every position opens with a real stop-loss and closes on its own terms. What you see in the backtest is the same logic that runs live, because there's nothing hidden in it to begin with.
No tuning. That's the setup.
The strategy parameters are pre-tuned and locked inside the EA. All three strategies run together as one system, so you don't tune the engine and you don't assemble it from parts. The only decision on you is position size: fixed lot, balance-step lot, or risk-percent.
No set-file hunting, no optimization marathons, no tweaking twelve inputs before your first trade.
Features
- 3 independent pre-tuned breakout strategies running together on one chart
- Pending stop-order breakout logic, both directions: Bitcoin pumps and dumps, and HODL Breaker trades both
- Built-in SL / TP, break-even and trailing-stop management
- Every strategy runs its own magic number for clean separation and clean reporting
- Money management: fixed lot, balance-step lot, or risk-percent
- Real broker stops or virtual (in-memory) stop mode
- Attach to any timeframe: the EA uses its own internal working timeframes
Setup
- Symbol: Bitcoin / BTCUSD
- Timeframe: any (H1 recommended for a clean chart)
- Recommended deposit: from $500
- Account: works on any account; low-spread crypto CFD accounts preferred for best fills
- Contract size note: BTC contract specifications differ between brokers. Risk-percent mode is recommended so position size adapts automatically.
- Set your lot size or risk, enable AutoTrading. That's it.
Notes
Every trade carries a stop-loss. Bitcoin is significantly more volatile than currencies or gold, and all three strategies can hold positions at the same time. Start with a small lot or low risk-percent and scale up once you've seen it work on your account. Also check your broker's swap on BTC positions, since HODL Breaker can hold trades for longer. As with any trading system, past behavior does not guarantee future results. Always test on a demo account first and use risk settings you're comfortable with.
Diamond hands. Real stops.
