Nasdaq M5 Reverse Scalper
Nasdaq M5 Reverse Scalper is an automated Expert Advisor designed for short-term trading on Nasdaq-related instruments using the M5 timeframe.
The EA uses a reverse execution approach. It first evaluates short-term market direction using multiple technical conditions and then executes a trade in the opposite direction of the detected standard signal.
The strategy is designed for traders who want to explore short-term counter-directional and mean-reversion behavior on Nasdaq-related instruments.
CORE TRADING LOGIC
The Expert Advisor evaluates three primary M5 conditions:
1. EMA 20 and EMA 50 direction
2. Price position relative to EMA 20
3. M5 candle direction
The EA uses a 2-out-of-3 scoring system.
When at least two conditions agree, a standard directional signal is identified. The Reverse Scalper then executes the opposite trade direction.
REVERSE BUY LOGIC
When the standard signal indicates SELL conditions, the Reverse Scalper can open a BUY position.
Standard SELL conditions include:
- EMA 20 below EMA 50
- Price below EMA 20
- Bearish M5 candle
If at least two SELL conditions are satisfied and the SELL score is stronger, the reverse strategy can execute a BUY.
REVERSE SELL LOGIC
When the standard signal indicates BUY conditions, the Reverse Scalper can open a SELL position.
Standard BUY conditions include:
- EMA 20 above EMA 50
- Price above EMA 20
- Bullish M5 candle
If at least two BUY conditions are satisfied and the BUY score is stronger, the reverse strategy can execute a SELL.
M5 SIGNAL PROCESSING
The EA is designed specifically around M5 market data.
By default, it can evaluate the current M5 candle to provide faster reaction to short-term market movements.
The entry system is intentionally based on a simple multi-condition scoring structure rather than requiring every condition to be satisfied simultaneously.
STOP LOSS AND TAKE PROFIT
The EA uses ATR-based dynamic protection combined with a minimum distance designed for Nasdaq instruments.
Default protection:
- ATR Period: 14
- ATR Stop Loss Multiplier: 1.20
- Minimum Nasdaq Stop Loss distance: 80 index price points
- Risk/Reward Ratio: 1:1
For Nasdaq-related instruments, the Stop Loss distance cannot normally be smaller than 80 index price points.
If the ATR calculation requires a distance greater than 80 points, the wider ATR-based distance is used.
Take Profit is calculated using the effective Stop Loss distance with a default 1:1 Risk/Reward ratio.
Example:
BUY Entry: 25,000
Stop Loss: approximately 24,920
Take Profit: approximately 25,080
The actual levels can be wider depending on ATR, spread and broker trading requirements.
RISK MANAGEMENT
The Expert Advisor includes automatic risk-based position sizing.
Default settings:
- Risk per trade: 0.50%
- Maximum lot size: 1.00 lot
- Optional fixed lot mode
- Dynamic ATR protection
- 1:1 Risk/Reward ratio
- Margin verification
- Spread protection
- Broker stop-level protection
Position size is calculated using the trading specifications supplied by the broker.
This is important because Nasdaq contract size, tick value, minimum volume and volume step can vary significantly between brokers.
CONSECUTIVE LOSS PROTECTION
The EA includes protection against consecutive losing trades.
Default settings:
- Consecutive Loss Limit: 3
- Trading Pause: 60 minutes
After three consecutive losing trades belonging to this Expert Advisor, new entries are paused for 60 minutes.
After the pause period expires, trading can automatically resume.
A profitable closed trade resets the consecutive-loss counter.
POSITION MANAGEMENT
The Reverse Scalper uses its own unique Magic Number to identify its trades.
This allows its positions to be distinguished from positions opened by other Expert Advisors using different Magic Numbers.
By default, the EA prevents multiple positions belonging to the same EA from being opened simultaneously on the same symbol.
FLEXIBLE NASDAQ SYMBOL SUPPORT
Nasdaq-related instruments can have different names depending on the broker.
The EA trades the symbol of the chart on which it is attached instead of relying on one fixed Nasdaq symbol name.
Common naming variations include:
- NAS100
- NAS_100
- US100
- US_100
- USTEC
- USTECH
- US_TECH
- NASDAQ
- NDX
- NQ100
- NQ_100
- TECH100
An optional symbol filter is included but is disabled by default for broader broker compatibility.

Before attempting to place an order, the EA checks:
- Terminal trading permission
- Expert Advisor trading permission
- Account trading permission
- Symbol trading mode
- Broker trading session
- Current spread
- Available free margin
- Broker minimum stop requirements
The EA does not use:
- Martingale
- Grid trading
- Averaging down
- Recovery lot multiplication

Nasdaq symbol names and contract specifications vary between brokers.

Contract size, tick value, spreads, commissions, trading sessions, minimum volume, execution quality and other conditions may differ between brokers and can affect trading results.
