ORION HUNTER XAU TICK IMPULSE
Short Description
XAUUSD Expert Advisor combining M1 market context, micro-pullbacks and tick-impulse confirmation.
Overview
ORION HUNTER XAU TICK IMPULSE is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor developed specifically for XAUUSD.
The strategy is designed to identify situations where Gold presents a valid directional structure, performs a controlled micro-pullback and then shows renewed acceleration through tick activity.
The EA does not enter simply because an M1 candle has closed.
First, the internal engine analyzes the XAUUSD M1 context. When a valid setup is identified, the signal is armed. The system then waits for tick behavior to confirm acceleration, directional pressure and displacement before an order can be sent.
The core process can be summarized as:
M1 Context → Dominance → Micro-Pullback → Reclaim → Tick Impulse → Entry
Supported Symbol
Designed and configured for:
XAUUSD / Gold
This product is intended specifically for XAUUSD.
Use on other instruments is outside the intended configuration of this version and is not recommended without complete independent testing and optimization.
Broker symbol names may vary, for example:
XAUUSD
XAUUSD.a
XAUUSDm
GOLD
Timeframe
The strategy uses M1 market data internally.
For monitoring and testing, the recommended chart is:
XAUUSD M1
Because the engine requests M1 data internally, attaching the EA to another chart timeframe does not change the internal analysis timeframe.
Trading Logic
Adaptive Volatility Context
The EA evaluates current XAUUSD volatility through ATR and compares it with its recent historical reference.
This information is used to adapt several internal market-context calculations.
Directional Dominance
Adaptive moving-average structure, slope, separation and recent price behavior are combined to determine whether a meaningful BUY or SELL bias is present.
If directional quality is insufficient, the EA can remain inactive.
Micro-Pullback Detection
Once a directional context exists, the system looks for a controlled return toward the short-term structure.
The pullback must satisfy internal requirements related to structure, volatility, volume, candle position and distance from the adaptive averages.
Armed Signal
A valid M1 setup does not immediately generate an order.
The setup becomes armed for a limited period while the EA observes intraminute market behavior.
Tick Impulse Confirmation
The final trigger analyzes recent tick activity.
The engine evaluates:
-
recent tick frequency;
-
acceleration versus baseline activity;
-
favorable directional movements;
-
directional pressure;
-
movement efficiency;
-
displacement relative to ATR;
-
spread stability;
-
preservation of the original market structure.
An order is considered only after the required tick conditions confirm the setup.
Adaptive Spread Control
XAUUSD spreads can change significantly across trading sessions and market regimes.
The EA therefore uses an adaptive spread model rather than relying exclusively on one fixed spread value.
Recent spread samples are evaluated together with current volatility.
Before an entry, the system also estimates the monetary cost of the spread relative to the trade-management target.
An entry can be rejected when transaction cost becomes disproportionate.
Monetary Trade Management
The default management model uses monetary thresholds and can scale them proportionally to the executed volume.
Reference lot:
0.02
Default reference values:
Direction Proof: 8.00
Trailback: 1.00
Net Scalp Target: 9.00
Soft Loss: 6.00
Hard Loss: 7.00
Extreme Loss: 10.00
When lot-based scaling is enabled, these values are scaled according to the effective volume.
Direction Proof and Trailback
When a position achieves the required favorable movement, the EA marks the trade as having proven direction.
After direction proof has been reached, a predefined retracement from the maximum favorable PnL can trigger the Trailback exit.
This allows the management engine to treat an unconfirmed trade differently from a trade that has already moved in the intended direction.
Loss Protection
The management structure includes:
Soft Loss
Hard Loss
Extreme Loss
An emergency broker-side Stop Loss is also placed.
The emergency stop calculation takes broker specifications into account, including stop level, freeze level, tick size and monetary protection requirements.
Daily Governance
Default settings:
Maximum Trades per Day: 5
Maximum Losses per Day: 2
Daily Loss Limit: -20.00
Daily Profit Target: Disabled by default
Daily monetary limits can scale with the selected volume.
When a governance limit is reached, new entries can be disabled for the remainder of the trading day.
Default Trading Window
The default operating window uses broker SERVER TIME.
Entry Start: 21:00
Entry End: 23:45
Forced Close: 23:55
IMPORTANT:
Server time differs between brokers and can change during daylight-saving periods.
Always verify your broker server time before using the EA.
Broker Sessions
When enabled, the EA reads the trading-session information provided for the symbol.
New entries are blocked when the broker reports that the symbol is outside its available trading session.
Volume and Margin Control
Default lot:
0.02
The EA evaluates:
-
minimum symbol volume;
-
maximum volume;
-
volume step;
-
available margin;
-
margin reserve.
The execution engine can adapt the requested volume when necessary to remain within the symbol and margin specifications.
Users remain responsible for selecting a volume appropriate for their capital and risk tolerance.
Account Currency
The supplied monetary settings are configured with USD as the intended reference.
A USD-denominated trading account is therefore recommended.
MetaTrader calculates trade profit and loss in the account deposit currency. Users of EUR, GBP or other account currencies should independently test and recalibrate monetary values before live use.
BUY and SELL
Both BUY and SELL directions are enabled in the default configuration.
Each direction can be individually enabled or disabled.
Netting and Hedging
The EA identifies its own positions using a Magic Number.
On Netting accounts, protection is included to avoid interfering with an external position on the same symbol that does not belong to the EA.
For cleaner operation, avoid mixing manual trades or unrelated EAs on XAUUSD when using a Netting account.

Recommended Initial Configuration
Symbol: XAUUSD
Internal timeframe: M1
Recommended chart: M1
Default Lot: 0.02
Recommended account currency: USD
Automated Trading: Enabled
VPS: Recommended for continuous operation
The supplied configuration should be treated as the official starting point for this version.
Strategy Tester
Because final confirmation depends on tick behavior, the recommended testing environment is:
MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester
Symbol: XAUUSD
Model: Every tick based on real ticks
Tick-dependent systems can behave differently when simplified price modeling is used.
Whenever possible, evaluate the EA using historical tick data from the broker you intend to use.
Recommended Validation Process
Before considering live trading:
-
Run Strategy Tester backtests.
-
Use real ticks when available.
-
Run forward testing on a Demo account.
-
Evaluate spread, commission and execution quality.
-
Only then consider live deployment.
Broker Differences
Results can differ between brokers because of:
-
spread;
-
commission;
-
slippage;
-
execution speed;
-
liquidity;
-
contract specifications;
-
tick size;
-
tick value;
-
stop level;
-
freeze level;
-
server time;
-
tick-history quality.
This is particularly relevant for a system that uses intraminute and tick-level information.
