IchimokuMulti – Your Universal Assistant in the World of Multi-Currency Trading
Imagine an advisor that simultaneously monitors dozens of currency pairs, independently makes entry decisions, intelligently averages losing positions, and even knows how to "clean" the portfolio of old problematic orders. Meet IchimokuMulti – a trading robot designed for those who value reliability, an intelligent approach, and multi-currency capabilities.
What is IchimokuMulti and what is it for?
IchimokuMulti is a multi-currency trading advisor for MetaTrader 4 that simultaneously trades on all instruments from the "Market Watch" window (currency pairs, metals, indices, CFDs). You install it just once on any chart, and it automatically starts working with all available symbols on the chosen timeframe.
The trading strategy is based on the legendary Ichimoku Kinko Hyo indicator – one of the most powerful technical analysis tools, allowing you to see the trend, support/resistance levels, and entry points simultaneously. The advisor uses the classic signal: the crossing of the Tenkan-sen and Kijun-sen lines in the direction of price movement relative to the "cloud" (Senkou Span A and B).
How the advisor works: in simple terms
Opening an order
Every 15 minutes (or on any other timeframe you choose in the settings), the advisor checks all symbols in your list. If a signal appears on an instrument – the Tenkan line crosses the Kijun line upwards while the price is above the cloud – a BUY order is opened. If the Tenkan line crosses the Kijun line downwards while the price is below the cloud – a SELL order is opened. It's simple and transparent!
Smart Averaging: How It Works
The most interesting part of the trading system's algorithm is intelligent averaging. Unlike "blind" Martingale, which simply doubles the lot after each losing trade, this trading robot acts much smarter.
How does it work in practice?
-
Entry signal – The advisor opens the first order (e.g., BUY).
-
Price goes against you – If the market reverses, the order becomes unprofitable.
-
New signal in the same direction – When a BUY signal occurs again, the advisor opens another BUY order with the same volume. This is averaging – you enter the market at a more favorable price, reducing the average entry price.
-
Signal in the opposite direction – If a SELL signal appears, the advisor does not close the losing BUY but instead opens a new SELL order in parallel. Thus, series of orders in both directions can exist simultaneously on each trading instrument.
Key difference from classic Martingale: All orders are opened with the same volume (without aggressive doubling, which can quickly destroy the deposit). Averaging occurs smoothly and safely, through the accumulation of positions as new signals arrive.
Closing Series: When We Lock in Profit
The advisor divides all orders into series – groups of orders in one direction (BUY or SELL) on one symbol.
For a single order (a series with only one order):
It is closed only upon receiving a closing signal (reverse crossing of Tenkan/Kijun) AND only if it is in profit. If the order is unprofitable, it remains open, and the advisor will wait for a signal for averaging.
For a series of several orders (an averaged position):
Every 5 minutes, the advisor checks the total profit of all orders in the series. If the total profit becomes positive, the entire series is closed completely at a profit. If the total profit is negative, the series remains open for further averaging.
This approach allows exiting the market only when the position has truly become profitable, rather than using rigid stop-losses, which are often triggered by market noise.
Closing Old Orders: Protection from "Stuck" Positions
Imagine you have an open order that has been hanging at a loss for several days. A regular advisor would hold it until the end, which can lead to significant drawdown. IchimokuMulti solves this problem efficiently and elegantly.
An order is considered "old" if it has been open for more than 60 hours and is at a loss. Every 10 minutes, the advisor finds the most unprofitable old order. Then, it evaluates all profitable orders across all symbols, sorting them by profit size (from most profitable to least). It sequentially adds profitable orders to the losing one until the total profit of the group of orders becomes positive. After that, all orders in the group are closed – both the old losing one and the compensating profitable ones. As a result, you get a small overall profit, and your order portfolio is cleared of "stuck garbage."
Example:
There is a losing old order on EURUSD with a loss of -$4.50. On other currency pairs, there are profitable orders: +$3.20, +$2.10, and +$1.30. The advisor will close the losing order and the two most profitable ones (+$3.20 and +$2.10). The total profit of the group will be: -$4.50 + $3.20 + $2.10 = +$0.80 (a small profit, but positive!). And you got rid of the problematic trade.
Advantages of IchimokuMulti over other robots:
-
Trades on all symbols simultaneously, while most other advisors require installation on each separate chart with different magic numbers.
-
Smart averaging without aggressive lot doubling. Other advisors often use dangerous Martingale.
-
Closing old orders – automatic "cleaning" of the portfolio. Other trading robots often have orders "hanging" for weeks and months, creating drawdown.
-
Closing orders and their series only when there is real profit. Most other trading robots use rigid stop-losses or take-profits (the profit of which can be eaten by swaps).
-
The information panel displays statistics on the chart in the trading terminal window. Most trading robots lack visual control.
-
Reliability – all operations are checked and logged. Many trading robots experience frequent errors and failures.
Additional Advantages:
-
Works in both directions simultaneously – both BUY and SELL series can exist on one symbol, allowing you to earn in any direction.
-
Considers swaps and commissions – all decisions are based on the real profit of open orders, taking into account all broker costs (swaps and commissions).
-
Fully autonomous – after installation, the advisor works without your participation.
-
Automatic recovery after restart – when the terminal or computer is restarted, the advisor automatically restores all information on open orders and continues working.
Advisor Settings: Simple and Clear
Below are all the parameters you can change. They are divided into logical groups for convenience.
Basic Settings
-
Magic Number – Unique identifier for the advisor's orders. If you use multiple advisors, each must have its own number. Default value: 100
-
Lot per 10000 balance – Lot size for every $10,000 of balance. For example, with a balance of $10,000 and a value of 0.01, the lot will be 0.01. With a balance of $25,000, it will be 0.02. Default value: 0.01
Number of Open Orders
-
MaxOrdersPerSymbol – Maximum number of simultaneously open orders per one symbol (e.g., on EURUSD). This includes both BUY and SELL orders of this advisor. Default value: 10
-
MaxTotalOrders – Maximum number of simultaneously open orders of the advisor on all symbols (maximum number of orders across all currency pairs, metals, etc.). Default value: 50
Ichimoku Indicator Parameters
-
Tenkan-sen period – Period of the fast line (period for calculating highs/lows). The smaller the value, the more sensitive the signal. Default value: 9
-
Kijun-sen period – Period of the signal line. Defines the main trend. Default value: 26
-
Senkou Span B period – Period for calculating the "cloud". Defines the long-term trend. Default value: 52
These values are the classic settings of the Ichimoku indicator, proven over decades. They are suitable for any instruments and any timeframes. You can change them, but initially, I recommend leaving them as is.
Trading Timeframe
-
Trading timeframe – The timeframe (quote chart period) on which the advisor will look for signals for opening orders. You can choose any: from M1 to MN1.
I recommend starting with M15 – this is the optimal balance between the number of signals and their reliability.
Information Panel Settings
-
Show panel – Show or hide the information panel on the chart (true / false).
-
Panel color – Panel background color.
-
Text color – Text color in the panel.
The information panel is displayed in the upper left corner of the chart and shows:
-
Profit for today, yesterday, and the day before yesterday.
-
Number and volume of current open orders.
-
Number, volume, and total loss of old orders.
-
The most unprofitable old order.
-
The last 10 actions of the advisor with exact time.
