Lizard – Gold EA for XAUUSD | Swing Breakout Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5

Lizard is a fully automated Gold (XAUUSD) Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. It uses a multi-strategy swing breakout system: the EA identifies key swing highs and swing lows on the H1 chart and places pending stop orders (buy stop / sell stop) at calculated entry points.

No martingale, no grid, no averaging into losses. Every trade is opened with a defined stop loss and take profit and is managed by a multi-layer exit system without manual intervention.

How it works

Lizard continuously scans the XAUUSD H1 chart for significant swing highs and swing lows. Once a valid structure is identified, a buy stop or sell stop order is placed at a calibrated distance from the level. The order is triggered only by an actual breakout; simply touching the price is not enough. This filters out weak moves and enters only on confirmed momentum.

Six independent strategies run at the same time on H1, each with its own stop loss and take profit, its own trailing system, its own magic number and its own risk weighting. They cover different market conditions, from short intraday breakouts to multi-day swing setups.

Strategy activation depends on the account balance: up to 1000 USD, zone A is active; from 1001 USD, zone A and zone B are active.

Multi-layer exit system: break even, trailing stop loss, trailing take profit and a step-based trail for staged stop loss progress.
Virtual stop loss: closes positions in software, independently of the broker.
Time filter: blocks, for each strategy separately, those trading hours that show a profit factor below 1.0 in the historical evaluation.
News filter: pauses trading before and after the US employment data (Non-Farm Payrolls).
Pending order cleanup: open pending orders are removed automatically ahead of the daily market close window.
Prop firm ready: input parameter for the maximum daily loss.
Risk control: every position is opened with a stop loss; risk is configurable.

But one thing has become very clear to me: some MQL users need absolutely everything put right in front of their faces, otherwise they either don’t notice it or simply don’t understand it. Funny, you’re the only one in the whole community who manages to end up with losses like that. Maybe you messed around with the settings too much? And if you were actually active in the group, you would have noticed what was going on. If you used your eyes, you’d also see that a new group has been open for quite a while already. But I guess it’s easier to complain than admit that you simply don’t know what you’re doing. Everyone else in the community is making solid profits. Bad luck for you.

I ran Lizard [version] on a live XAUUSD account for [time period] with [preset/risk settings]. Results were very disappointing: the account is down [X% / $X]. One of the main reasons I bought it was the seller's live signal, and that signal has now been deleted. Removing a live signal after losses makes it impossible for buyers to verify real performance, and it makes me question the track record shown on this page. Many trades got stopped out quickly after a breakout entry, and a few losses wiped out several days of gains. The news filter is OFF by default until you manually add the WebRequest URL, which is risky for a gold EA. I can't recommend it. If you still want to try it, demand a verifiable live signal first and test on demo through several major news releases.

Been using it for 2 months and satisfied with the results. Here's my journey: - Bought and starting to run live at worst possible timing (mid July, in the middle of summer), lost around 60usd - Lower the risks and wait for when the market gets back to normal volatility - Go back to my own settings and got +75% in August Outside of that, the community on Discord is extremely helpful. People cheer, discuss, help new members. The group also has a dedicated channel for reviewing other EAs by numbers, statistics, math, science and common sense. I must thank Zolia a lot for this because he actually spent time and effort growing the community. Lastly, a word to those haters, if you actually spend time researching, you would know that Summer, Christmas and New Year are the times when the volatility is the lowest and that Breakout EAs will all suffer from it no matter what. If you actually have the money to buy an EA and put money for it to trade, why not spend 5 more minutes researching?

In financial markets, no strategy can offer 100% win rates—for zero risk, traditional banking is usually the only option. And it’s funny how you’re only complaining about the loss, but not mentioning the last huuuuuge win. Just look at my High Risk signal — today’s loss was only a fraction of the previous win. So either you heavily manipulated the EA/settings, or you’re lying left and right. The backtests are not edited. The only thing you can change is the Fakeout settings. And maybe you’re also aware that the backtest runs on YOUR broker’s data and according to YOUR tester settings. If you test with 1ms latency, you’ll never get realistic results. But for that, you actually need to know how to run proper backtests in the first place.

Lost big money again on v1.86 because the news filter didn't work under default settings. The dev pushed v1.87 overnight to fix this setup issue, but offered ZERO apology for my financial loss and only begged me to change my bad review. Very unprofessional communication and risk management. Use with extreme caution.

The developer claimed v1.86 was fine and blamed my settings. But multiple users lost 25%+ of their accounts under DEFAULT settings during CPI news due to the exact same news filter bug. The developer even called victims 'liars' before secretly pushing v1.87 with the patch note: 'Fixed news calendar filter'. Extremely deceptive, irresponsible, and dangerous developer. Avoid at all costs.

I also apologize there every time bugs or other issues occur, and I have completely normal conversations with users. It is always funny to see that reviews like this usually come from users who do not want to read the manual or join any community, and then complain that I supposedly do nothing. I am not your psychologist for your mental problems, and if you do not want me to fix bugs — which I often only discover thanks to feedback from the community — then you should not use my EA. I want to fix bugs and improve the EA instead of being like other developers who leave obvious problems unfixed for months.
