Precision Trend Filter is an adaptive noise-filtering trend indicator that identifies real market direction while ignoring false moves and choppy price action.
The indicator uses a proprietary filtering algorithm with ATR-based dynamic thresholding to separate genuine trend shifts from random market noise. The result is a clean, color-coded trend line that holds flat during consolidation and tracks price aggressively during real trends.

Built-In Dashboard
The indicator includes a professional interactive dashboard with three tabs:
- Main tab: current signal direction, filter value, ATR threshold, momentum strength, trend duration, and a visual velocity bar
- Stats tab: bullish and bearish switch counts, filter internals, and active parameter settings
- Info tab: quick reference and support information
The dashboard is DPI-aware and scales correctly on all screen resolutions. It is automatically hidden during backtesting and optimization.
How to Use
- A green line indicates bullish momentum. A red line indicates bearish momentum.
- Trend switch dots highlight confirmed reversals at their origin price level.
- Flat zones on the filter act as areas of interest for potential support or resistance.
- Use as a standalone trend filter or combine with your existing strategy for added confluence.
- Increase the ATR Multiplier on volatile instruments to reduce false signals during consolidation.
- Lower the Adaptation Rate for smoother output or raise it for faster response to new price data.
Input Parameters
- Source: price data used for calculation (Close, Open, High, Low, Median, Typical, Weighted)
- ATR Multiplier: controls the noise threshold sensitivity (default 1.5)
- Adaptation Rate: controls how fast the filter responds to price changes (default 0.6)
- Show Dashboard: toggle the on-chart dashboard panel on or off
What Makes This Different
Most trend indicators either lag too much or generate too many false signals. Precision Trend Filter solves this by dynamically adjusting its sensitivity to current market conditions. Recommendations
