EA25 – ADX Martingale 500 Pip is an automated MetaTrader 4 Expert Advisor that combines ADX-based market direction analysis with a structured Martingale recovery system and basket-level profit management.
The EA first analyzes market conditions using the Average Directional Index (ADX) and its directional indicators. When the required conditions are satisfied, EA25 opens an initial BUY or SELL position.
If the market subsequently moves against the open position, the EA can add another position at a predefined price distance using a larger lot size. This recovery process continues according to the configured Martingale multiplier until the combined basket reaches the configured profit target.
HOW EA25 WORKS1. ADX Market Analysis
EA25 uses the Average Directional Index (ADX) to determine whether the market has sufficient directional strength for a trade.
The default ADX settings are:
-
ADX Period: 14
-
ADX Threshold: 30
-
Signal Candle: Previous completed candle
The EA uses the ADX together with the directional indicators +DI and -DI.
BUY Conditions
A BUY opportunity is considered when:
-
ADX is above the configured threshold.
-
+DI is greater than -DI.
-
BUY trading is enabled.
-
The EA's other trading conditions are satisfied.
This indicates that bullish directional pressure is stronger than bearish pressure.
SELL Conditions
A SELL opportunity is considered when:
-
ADX is above the configured threshold.
-
-DI is greater than +DI.
-
SELL trading is enabled.
-
The EA's other trading conditions are satisfied.
This indicates that bearish directional pressure is stronger than bullish pressure.
2. Initial TradeWhen the required ADX conditions are satisfied, EA25 opens an initial position using the configured starting lot size.
The default starting lot is:
0.10 lots
The EA can be configured to trade:
-
BUY only
-
SELL only
-
BUY and SELL
This allows traders to control the direction in which the EA operates.
3. Martingale Recovery SystemThe main feature of EA25 is its Martingale position-management system.
If an existing position moves against the EA by the required distance, the EA can open an additional position in the same direction.
The new position uses a larger lot size according to the configured Martingale multiplier.
The default multiplier is:
2.0
For example, starting from 0.10 lots, a theoretical progression can look like:
0.10 → 0.20 → 0.40 → 0.80 → 1.60 → 3.20 → 6.40
The purpose of increasing the position size is to allow a subsequent favorable market movement to contribute more toward recovering the floating losses of earlier positions.
4. Position DistanceEA25 uses a configurable price-distance requirement before adding another recovery position.
The configured distance parameter is:
Distance = 50 pips by default
The EA checks the distance between existing positions and the current market price before adding another position.
It also checks existing positions to avoid unnecessarily placing recovery trades too close to one another.
This creates a structured recovery sequence rather than continuously opening positions on every market tick.
5. Basket Profit ManagementEA25 manages the open recovery positions as a combined basket.
Instead of requiring every individual position to become profitable independently, the EA monitors the overall floating result of the relevant positions.
The default basket profit target is:
$20
When the combined floating profit reaches the configured monetary target, the EA can close the corresponding positions.
Example
A basket could contain:
-
Trade 1: - $60
-
Trade 2: - $30
-
Trade 3: + $50
-
Trade 4: + $60
Combined result:
+$20
When the configured basket target is $20, the EA can close the basket.
This allows profitable recovery positions to help offset losses from earlier positions.
6. No Individual Fixed Stop LossThe standard EA configuration does not rely on a conventional individual hard Stop Loss for each position.
Instead, the strategy primarily uses:
ADX signal → Initial position → Recovery positions → Martingale sizing → Basket profit closure
This is an important characteristic of the strategy.
Because positions can remain open while the EA attempts to recover the basket, account exposure can increase during prolonged adverse market movements.
7. Once-Per-Bar ProtectionEA25 includes a once-per-bar mechanism.
This helps prevent the EA from repeatedly opening new positions within the same candle when market prices fluctuate rapidly.
The default signal candle is:
Candle ID 1
which refers to the previous completed candle.
8. BUY RecoveryWhen a BUY basket is active and the market moves against the BUY positions, EA25 can evaluate whether another recovery position should be opened.
The general process is:
BUY position
↓
Market moves lower
↓
Required distance reached
↓
Check existing positions
↓
Calculate larger Martingale lot
↓
Open additional BUY
↓
Continue monitoring the basket
9. SELL RecoveryThe SELL recovery process works in the opposite direction.
SELL position
↓
Market moves higher
↓
Required distance reached
↓
Check existing positions
↓
Calculate larger Martingale lot
↓
Open additional SELL
↓
Continue monitoring the basket

✓ ADX Trend-Strength Filter
Uses ADX and directional indicators to identify markets with sufficient directional strength.
✓ BUY and SELL Trading
Allows automated trading in both market directions, with the ability to disable either direction.
✓ Automated Martingale Recovery
Can progressively increase position size when the market moves against an existing basket.
✓ Structured Recovery Distance
Additional positions are only considered after the required price distance has been reached.
✓ Basket Profit Target
Multiple positions are managed collectively and can be closed when the combined result reaches the configured profit target.
✓ Once-Per-Bar Protection
Helps prevent excessive order execution within the same candle.
✓ Automated Trading
Once configured and attached to a chart, the EA can monitor market conditions and manage positions automatically.
RISK MANAGEMENTEA25 uses a Martingale-based recovery strategy, which means that position sizes can increase significantly during consecutive adverse market movements.
For example:
0.10 → 0.20 → 0.40 → 0.80 → 1.60 → 3.20
Therefore, traders should carefully consider:
-
Account balance
-
Initial lot size
-
Martingale multiplier
-
Maximum number of recovery positions
-
Maximum acceptable drawdown
-
Leverage
-
Symbol volatility
-
Broker margin requirements
-
Trading timeframe
-
Maximum acceptable exposure
A prolonged one-directional market movement can result in multiple open positions and substantially increased exposure.
Martingale trading does not guarantee recovery of losses.
