Correct Terminal Terminator logic
UPWARD TREND
At every grid level, the EA has a Buy + Sell.
Example with 200 points grid spacing:
Level 1
-
Buy = 0.01
-
Sell = 0.01
Price moves 200 points upward:
Level 2
-
The Buy 0.01 from Level 1 closes in profit.
-
The Sell 0.01 remains open and is losing.
-
New Buy = 0.01
-
New Sell = 0.02
So now the Sell side is:
0.01 → 0.02
Price moves another 200 points upward:
Level 3
-
The Buy 0.01 closes.
-
Existing Sell positions remain.
-
New Buy = 0.01
-
New Sell = 0.03
Sell side:
0.01 → 0.02 → 0.03
Next level:
0.01 → 0.02 → 0.03 → 0.04
So the Buy side stays at 0.01, while the accumulating Sell side increases according to the number of active trades.
The important HEAD / TAIL mechanism
Suppose the Sell side has:
TAIL → 0.01
0.02
0.03
HEAD → 0.04
If price reverses downward and the 0.04 HEAD Sell reaches its profit condition:
0.04 HEAD closes
The EA then closes/reduces the 0.01 TAIL against it.
That leaves:
0.02
0.03
There are now 2 remaining Sell trades.
If the trend continues upward again and another Sell needs to be opened, the next Sell is:
0.03
—not 0.05 and not 0.04.
That's because there are currently two active Sell trades, so:
Number of active trades × 0.01 = next incremental lot
Therefore:
| Active Sell trades | Next Sell |
|---|---|
| 0 | 0.01 |
| 1 | 0.02 |
| 2 | 0.03 |
| 3 | 0.04 |
| 4 | 0.05 |
| 5 | 0.06 |
The same principle applies to the Buy side during a downtrend.

TERMINAL TERMINATOR
Terminal Terminator is a grid-based Expert Advisor that opens Buy and Sell positions at each grid level and dynamically manages the accumulating side of the grid.
The EA uses a configurable Grid Spacing, Starting Lot, and Incremental Factor.
For example:
-
Starting Lot: 0.01
-
Incremental Factor: 0.01
-
Grid Spacing: 200 points
How the Grid Works
At every grid level, the EA opens:
BUY + SELL
When price moves upward, the Buy positions can reach their profit level and close, while the Sell positions remain open and accumulate.
For example:
Level 1
-
Buy 0.01
-
Sell 0.01
Level 2
-
Buy 0.01
-
Sell 0.02
Level 3
-
Buy 0.01
-
Sell 0.03
Level 4
-
Buy 0.01
-
Sell 0.04
The accumulating side therefore follows the number of active trades and the configured incremental factor.
Incremental Trade Calculation
With an Incremental Factor of 0.01, the next trade is determined by the number of active trades on that side.
For example, if there are 3 active Sell trades, the next Sell trade is:
3 × 0.01 + 0.01 = 0.04 lot
If a head trade is subsequently closed and the corresponding tail trade is reduced, the number of remaining trades changes.
Example:
0.01 → 0.02 → 0.03 → 0.04
If the 0.04 Head Sell closes in profit and the 0.01 Tail Sell is closed/reduced, the remaining positions are:
0.02 + 0.03
There are now 2 active Sell trades.
If another Sell position is required, its lot size becomes:
0.03 lot
This allows the lot progression to dynamically adjust according to the current number of active trades, rather than simply continuing to increase indefinitely.
Trend Reversal & Head/Tail Management
The EA also uses a Head/Tail position-management mechanism.
When the profitable Head trade is closed, the EA can close or partially close the opposing Tail trade according to the configured rules.
For example:
Head = 0.04 lot
Tail = 0.01 lot
When the 0.04-lot Head trade closes at its profit condition, the 0.01-lot Tail trade is closed/reduced.
The remaining trades are then used to determine the lot size of subsequent positions.
Downtrend
The same principle works in the opposite direction.
During a downtrend:
-
Sell positions can close at successive grid levels.
-
Buy positions become the accumulating side.
-
The Buy lot size increases according to the number of active Buy trades and the Incremental Factor.
-
When the trend reverses, the Head/Tail mechanism manages the accumulated Buy positions.
Main Features

Buy and Sell at every grid level
-
Configurable grid spacing
-
Configurable starting lot
-
Configurable incremental factor
-
Dynamic lot progression based on active trades
-
Head and Tail trade management
-
Partial Tail closing
-
Automatic adjustment after Head/Tail removal
-
Uptrend and downtrend management
-
Designed for MetaTrader 5
Example progression:
0.01 → 0.02 → 0.03 → 0.04
After Head/Tail management:
0.01 + 0.02 + 0.03 + 0.04
becomes:
0.02 + 0.03
The next incremental trade is therefore:
0.03
Important: Trading financial markets involves substantial risk. The EA does not guarantee profits. Users should test the Expert Advisor on a demo account and understand its parameters and potential drawdown before using real funds.
