AURUM TRIAD - three-engine expert advisor for XAUUSD (Gold)
Aurum Triad combines three independent trading engines that react to different gold market behaviours. Each engine can be switched on or off, and all of them share one risk layer.
THE THREE ENGINES
1) SESSION ENGINE
- Momentum entries during selected trading sessions, confirmed by a multi-factor filter
- Equal-lot averaging basket: no martingale, lots are never multiplied
- The basket is closed by a trailing profit
- Optional basket hard stop
2) BREAKOUT ENGINE
- Short-term and long-term range breakouts with pending stop orders
- Every trade has Stop Loss and Take Profit
- Volatility, trend and distance filters to avoid weak breakouts
- Break-even and trailing protection on long-term trades
3) SNAP ENGINE
- Reacts to key price levels with stop orders (one-cancels-other)
- Every trade has Stop Loss and Take Profit, protected by a tight trailing stop
- One position at a time
PROTECTION
- Daily equity guard: if equity falls X% (default 30%) during the day, all positions are closed and the EA pauses until the next day
- News filter: no new session entries around NFP and FOMC (MQL5 Economic Calendar)
- Friday night filter
- Spread filter, margin check and broker trade-mode checks before every order
- Maximum number of open positions
LOT MODES
- AUTO (recommended): Lot per Balance step. Default 0.01 lot per $3,000. The lot grows as the balance grows and shrinks after losses.
- FIXED: the same lot on every trade.
MAIN INPUTS
- Lot mode, Lot, Balance step: position sizing
- Daily equity guard %: daily loss limit (0 = off)
- Session basket hard stop: optional stop for session baskets (0 = off)
- Max spread, Max open positions, Magic number base
- Engines: each engine can be enabled or disabled separately
- Breakout filters: volatility, trend and distance filters
- News and time filters: NFP, FOMC and Friday night
- Show panel: information panel on the chart
BACKTEST (XAUUSD, 2018-01-01 - 2026-10-15)
MT5 Strategy Tester, "Every tick based on real ticks", $3,000 deposit, FIXED 0.01 lot, daily equity guard 30%:
- Net profit: $12,670
- Profit factor: 2.22
- Maximum equity drawdown: 6.45% ($456)
- Trades: 8,896
- Profitable months: 86 of 106, every calendar year profitable
- No stop-out in any tested lot size from 0.01 to 0.14 per $3,000
Results scale with the lot size - see the "Choose your risk" screenshot. Higher lots mean proportionally higher drawdowns.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Symbol: XAUUSD (or your broker's gold symbol). Chart timeframe does not matter; the EA reads the data it needs itself.
- Account type: HEDGING. On netting accounts only the Snap engine works.
- Recommended deposit: $3,000 per 0.01 lot (the default settings). The broker's minimum lot is always used, so on smaller accounts the relative risk is higher.
- Low-spread ECN/RAW account and a VPS for 24/5 operation.
- Start with a demo account and the default settings.
IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ
- All figures above come from historical backtests. Real ticks for the test period are only partly available; earlier data is generated by the tester. Past results do not guarantee future results.
- The session engine uses an averaging basket WITHOUT a stop loss per position. Losses are limited by the daily equity guard and the optional basket hard stop. Do not disable the equity guard.
- Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
