GRIDWISE PROP EA — Professional Adaptive Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5
The author’s public MQL5 signal, powered by GridWise Prop EA, consistently holds leading positions in the overall MQL5 Signals ranking and regularly appears in the Top 1–3 among all signals.
GridWise Prop EA is a professional MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor built around adaptive basket/grid architecture, multi-level module management, dynamic grid calculation, flexible Take Profit logic, and defensive behavior modes for difficult market conditions.
This is not a simple grid EA that opens orders mechanically at a fixed distance. GridWise Prop EA is a complete trading cycle management system where each new order, grid step, position size, and exit logic can adapt to the current market environment and the condition of the open basket.
The EA is designed for traders who need more than a basic grid algorithm — a flexible trading system capable of working through different market phases, from normal conditions to periods of increased volatility, drawdown, or directional market pressure.
🔹 Core Concept
The main purpose of GridWise Prop EA is not to catch one perfect entry, but to build a controlled trading structure and manage it until the cycle is completed.
Most standard grid EAs use the same logic in all conditions: fixed spacing, fixed multiplier, fixed Take Profit, and mechanical averaging. This may work in calm markets, but it becomes dangerous when market behavior changes.
GridWise Prop EA works differently.
The system can evaluate volatility, drawdown, movement strength, market structure, Premium/Discount zones, and the condition of the current basket. Based on this, the EA can adjust its behavior: widen the grid, reduce aggression, limit new modules, switch trading mode, and manage the whole open structure more flexibly.
🔹 Adaptive Grid: Multiple Calculation Models
One of the main advantages of GridWise Prop EA is its flexible grid construction logic.
The EA can use several grid step calculation models:
Static Grid Step
A classic fixed grid step. This is useful when the trader wants full manual control over the distance between orders.
Drawdown-Based Grid Step
The grid step can increase as drawdown grows. The higher the load on the basket, the more cautious the system becomes. This helps avoid building positions too densely during difficult market phases.
Drawdown can be calculated globally or separately for each module. This is important because the EA can evaluate the condition of a specific basket, not only the total account equity.
ATR-Based Grid Step
The grid can adapt to current volatility through ATR. When the market becomes wider and more volatile, spacing between orders can increase. When the market is calmer, the system can operate with a more compact structure.
Smart Grid Step
The most advanced adaptive grid model.
Smart Grid Step can combine several factors:
ATR / current volatility
drawdown
movement strength through ADX
individual factor weights
maximum step limitation
This means the grid does not simply become wider because of drawdown. It can evaluate a broader market picture and calculate spacing more intelligently than a standard grid algorithm.
This makes GridWise Prop EA more flexible and better adapted to changing market conditions.
🔹 Up to 7 Independent Trading Modules
GridWise Prop EA can work with multiple independent trading modules.
Each module is a separate trading structure with its own starting level, basket, and development logic. Instead of building the entire position in one straight line, the EA distributes trading logic across several levels.
This gives the system more flexibility:
modules can open gradually
each module can develop its own basket
new modules can be restricted when drawdown increases
all modules can be combined into one global basket when needed
This makes the system more controllable than a standard single-layer grid.
🔹 Flexible Take Profit: Fixed or Adaptive
GridWise Prop EA supports both classic fixed Take Profit and dynamic Take Profit based on ATR.
When fixed TP is used, the trader defines the target distance for basket closure manually.
When dynamic TP is enabled, the EA calculates the Take Profit distance based on current volatility. The code includes:
minimum Take Profit
maximum Take Profit
ATR multiplier
separate ATR timeframe
automatic ATR period update
option to use a single TP for all grids
This is important: in calm markets, the system does not need to wait for an unnecessarily large target, while in more volatile conditions Take Profit can adapt to the actual movement range.
This makes basket exits more flexible and more logical.
🔹 Trade Mode #2 — a Separate System Behavior Mode
One of the strongest features of GridWise Prop EA is Trade Mode #2.
This is not just an additional setting. It is a complete second behavior mode that can use a different set of parameters and a different management model.
Mode #2 can be enabled from the beginning or activated after a defined drawdown level. Once activated, it can stay active until the current basket is completed, preventing unstable switching around the activation threshold.
In Mode #2, the EA can use:
a different trading timeframe
a different minimum grid step
a different lot multiplier
separate Smart Trend Guard settings
separate MTF EMA filter
separate EMA filters for additional orders
static distance between modules
static grid step
a more defensive basket management model
This allows the EA to avoid working with one rigid logic all the time and change its behavior when market conditions become more difficult.
🔹 Trend Stability Filter / TSF
GridWise Prop EA uses Trend Stability Filter, a market structure filter based on swing movements.
This is not a basic moving average filter. TSF analyzes local extrema, trend depth, and swing size to determine whether the market is forming a stable directional structure.
For a basket/grid system, this is especially important. One of the biggest risks of grid trading is continuing to build positions against a strong directional move. TSF helps make the system more selective and avoid building baskets when market structure is unfavorable.
🔹 MTF EMA and EMA Continuation Filters
The EA includes separate EMA filtering logic for the first entry and for additional orders.
This is an important difference from simple systems where the filter is checked only before the first order, while the grid continues automatically after that.
GridWise Prop EA can separately control:
conditions for the first entry
basket continuation for modules 1–3
basket continuation for modules 4–7
separate EMA settings inside Trade Mode #2
This allows the system not only to start more selectively, but also to continue basket development according to the current market picture.
🔹 Premium / Discount Matrix Filter
The EA includes a Premium / Discount Zone Matrix Filter.
This filter evaluates where the current price is located within a broader market structure and helps determine whether price is in a premium zone, discount zone, or neutral area.
For a grid system, this is a serious advantage because the quality of the price zone matters. The EA can be configured to avoid less favorable areas and open positions only when price is located in a more logical area within the market structure.
🔹 Smart Trend Guard
GridWise Prop EA includes a dedicated protection block called Smart Trend Guard.
Its purpose is to identify dangerous conditions when the market starts moving slowly but persistently against the open structure. These movements can be especially difficult for basket/grid systems: they may not look like a sharp impulse, but they can gradually increase pressure on the account.
Smart Trend Guard can take into account:
drawdown level for activation
minimum price movement
number of bars
ADX
maximum number of orders
cooldown before re-entry
This makes the system more cautious in conditions where a basic grid EA would often continue adding positions too aggressively.
🔹 Lot and Aggression Management
GridWise Prop EA includes flexible lot management.
The system supports:
fixed lot
AutoLot
deposit-based lot calculation
maximum lot limitation
linear or hybrid maximum lot calculation
lot multiplier
separate multiplier for Trade Mode #2
dynamic reduction of lot multiplier during drawdown
option to use maximum lot only for the last orders
This allows the EA to be configured both for more active trading and for more conservative prop-style setups.
🔹 Global Basket Mode
GridWise Prop EA can manage each module separately, but when needed, it can combine all open positions into one global basket.
Global Basket Mode allows the EA to treat the entire open structure as one trading cycle. In this mode, the system calculates a shared breakeven and shared Take Profit for all modules.
This mode can be activated by drawdown or manually from the control panel.
It is an important function for difficult market phases, when managing separate modules becomes less efficient and the entire open position structure needs centralized control.
🔹 Breakeven and Structure Protection
The EA supports moving the grid to breakeven after reaching a defined number of profit points. This allows the system not only to wait for the full Take Profit, but also to protect a recovered basket.
The EA also supports Stop Loss and manual price-based Global SL for the active basket, giving the trader an additional level of control over the open structure.
🔹 Visual Control and Manual Management
GridWise Prop EA includes a manual control panel directly on the chart.
The trader can:
close a specific module
close all positions
force a trade opening
force Buy
force Sell
manually enable or disable Global Basket Mode
The chart can also display breakeven lines, Take Profit lines, order open lines, and key filter values.
This makes the EA not a black box, but a practical trading system management tool.
🔹 Suitable for Prop-Style Configurations
GridWise Prop EA can be used for more conservative prop-style configurations.
Thanks to Trade Mode #2, adaptive grid spacing, dynamic TP, structural filters, aggression control, and Global Basket Mode, the EA can be configured for more careful trading cycle development and drawdown control.
This does not make the system risk-free, but its architecture gives the trader significantly more control tools than a basic grid EA.
🔹 Real Trading Application
GridWise Prop EA is used by the author in real trading, including a public MQL5 signal and prop challenge testing.
This is not a theoretical concept or a simple test project. The EA was created as a working tool for real market conditions, where entries alone are not enough — the real value is in managing the open structure, adapting to changing market behavior, and completing trading cycles under different conditions.
🔹 Who This EA Is For
GridWise Prop EA is designed for traders who understand basket/grid trading and want to use a more advanced system with adaptive logic, filtering, defensive regimes, and manual control.
It is a tool for traders who need more flexibility than a standard grid EA can offer and understand that performance depends on settings, instrument, account size, leverage, and market conditions.
🔹 Important Risk Notice
GridWise Prop EA uses basket/grid logic and is not a risk-free system. Before using it on a live account, it is strongly recommended to test the EA carefully in the strategy tester and on a demo account.
