Local Trade Copier Pro copies trades between MetaTrader 5 terminals running on the same Windows PC or VPS. One EA, two modes: run it as Master on the account that trades and as Receiver on every account that should follow. Positions, pending orders, SL/TP changes, partial closes and closes are copied within a few hundred milliseconds including the broker's execution (median 333 ms in our live test), through the terminals' shared Common Files folder: no DLL, no internet connection, no extra software.
The copier compares states, not events: the master publishes its complete list of positions and orders, and every receiver reconciles its own copies against it many times per second. Restarts, disconnects and missed events heal themselves, every copy carries the master ticket in its magic number, and a trade is never opened twice.
Copying
- One master → many receivers, and several masters → one receiver (follow "MASTER1;MASTER2", each with its own lot factor, e.g. "MASTER2:0.5").
- Copies market positions and pending orders (limit, stop, stop-limit) with their expiration.
- Keeps every copy in sync: SL/TP changes, pending price changes, partial closes (the receiver keeps the same proportion), closes and deleted orders. A filled master order is followed at once; if the receiver's own order is still waiting, it is replaced by a market copy within your price limit.
- Reverse copy: buy ↔ sell, SL and TP swapped, limit ↔ stop orders.
- SL/TP placement: the same price levels as the master, or the same distance from the receiver's own entry (useful when two brokers quote slightly different prices).
- Works with hedging and netting masters; hedging receivers are recommended.
Lot size
- 5 lot modes: fixed lot, master lot × multiplier, by balance ratio, by equity ratio (receiver / master), or risk % of equity from the master's stop loss (falls back to the multiplier when a trade has no SL).
- Contract-size adjustment between brokers (for example gold with 100 oz on one broker and 1 oz on another).
- Broker minimum, maximum and volume step respected; optional maximum lot per copy; results below the minimum are opened at the minimum or skipped (your choice). Volumes above the broker maximum are split into several positions.
Symbol mapping
- Automatic: suffixes and prefixes are recognised on both sides (EURUSD.a → EURUSD, EURUSDm, mEURUSD …). Close-only twins of a symbol are skipped in favour of the tradable one.
- Built-in aliases for instruments with different names (XAUUSD / GOLD, US30 / DJ30 / WS30, USTEC / NAS100, DE40 / GER40, oil, crypto …).
- Custom map table, e.g. XAUUSD=GOLD; US30=DJ30.cash, and manual receiver prefix / suffix.
- The panel shows a mapping preview for every master symbol and how it was found (custom, exact, suffix, alias).
Filters
- Only / never these symbols (wildcards like XAU*), magic numbers (lists and ranges like 100-199) and comments.
- Direction: buy and sell, buy only, or sell only. Pending orders on or off.
- Copy existing trades at the first start: on or off. Off means only trades opened after the receiver was attached are copied.
Protection
- Price-deviation guard: a copy is not opened when the receiver's price is more than N points away from the master's entry. Plus a maximum slippage for every market order.
- Daily loss limit (% of the day-start balance) and equity floor: when hit, all copies are closed and no new copies are opened (the daily stop releases itself on the next trading day, or with one click).
- Pause button: no new copies, while closes and SL/TP changes still follow the master, so nothing is left unmanaged.
- A master that is offline or disconnected from its broker never closes receiver trades: closes only happen on a fresh, intact master state in which the trade is gone. A master account change is detected and needs your confirmation.
- Every order is checked before it is sent: free margin, volume limits, stops and freeze levels, trade and filling modes, and all trade return codes are handled with automatic retries and back-off.
Restart-safe reconcile
- After a receiver restart, crash or disconnect, trades the master opened in the meantime are copied (within the price guard), SL/TP changes and partial closes are applied, and closed trades are closed.
- A trade that was opened and closed on the master while the receiver was away is never copied. A copy that you or your stop loss closed on the receiver is never reopened.
- No duplicates: every copy carries the master ticket in its magic number, and the receiver remembers each master ticket it has copied.
Status panel
- Link lamp and state for every master (online, offline, no broker, account changed), heartbeat age and poll interval.
- Measured copy latency (last and average): from the moment the master published a change to the receiver's completed order.
- Counters: copied, synced, failed and skipped, with the reason of every skip or failure in the activity list.
- Receiver: per-master table, mapping preview, daily-loss bar. Master: per-receiver table (state, copies, latency), list of published trades.
- Dark and light themes (automatic from the chart), sharp at 100–200 % screen scaling, movable and minimisable.
- Optional copy journal (CSV in MQL5\Files) with every action, result and latency.
Quick start
- Open both MT5 terminals on the same PC or VPS and enable Algo Trading.
- Master terminal: attach the EA to any chart, Mode = Master, Channel = MASTER1.
- Receiver terminal: attach the EA to any chart, Mode = Receiver, Channel = MASTER1, choose the lot mode.
- The receiver's lamp turns green: new master trades are copied from now on.
Requirements and notes
- All terminals must run on the same Windows computer or VPS under the same Windows user (they share the Common Files folder). Copying between different computers is not supported. The MetaQuotes built-in virtual hosting isolates terminals, so it cannot be used for the link.
- The receiver account needs Algo Trading enabled.
- Copy latency depends on your PC/VPS and the broker's execution. In our live test (two terminals on one PC, demo account) the time from the master's change to the receiver's completed order was 263–452 ms, of which about 230–260 ms was the demo server's own order round trip.
- The free demo runs only in the Strategy Tester (MQL5 rule), where it shows the panel; real copying needs two running terminals.
- A detailed user guide (every input, setups for several masters/receivers, troubleshooting) is available from the author; questions are welcome in private messages.
