Multi-Breakout Alpha – Modular Breakout Expert Advisor for XAUUSD (Gold)
Multi-Breakout Alpha is a rule-based, fully automated breakout Expert Advisor built around a prop-firm style risk layer. Every position is opened with a hard Stop Loss. No martingale, no grid, no averaging, no hedging tricks, no news-spike scalping.
The default preset runs the BOX module on XAUUSD: it measures the range of the last 36 H1 bars before the daily anchor (00:00 GMT), places a Buy Stop above and a Sell Stop below the box, and manages the trade with a box-proportional Stop Loss, Take Profit and trailing stop. As soon as one side triggers, the opposite pending order is cancelled – the two legs are never held as a hedge.
Seven additional breakout modules are included and can be enabled independently, each with its own magic number, risk % and exit logic: Donchian Channel, Previous Day High/Low, Previous Week High/Low, Opening Range Breakout London, Opening Range Breakout New York, Volatility Squeeze (Bollinger inside Keltner) and Failed-Breakout Fade. These modules ship DISABLED and are not part of the published backtest. Enable them only after your own testing.

RECOMMENDED SETUP • Symbol: XAUUSD (Gold). Other symbols require their own .set file and testing. • Chart timeframe: M15 (the EA reads H1 data internally for the box) • Minimum deposit for risk-percent sizing: 10,000 USD. Below that, switch InpLotSizingMode to LOT_SIZING_FIXED with 0.01 lot. • Leverage: 1:30 or higher • Low-spread ECN/RAW account; VPS recommended for 24/5 operation • Check InpBoxServerGMTOffset against your broker's server time (default 3 = GMT+3 servers, the most common setting)

WHAT THIS EA IS NOT It is not a high-frequency scalper and it will not open trades every day. Breakout systems have losing streaks by design; the edge comes from letting winners run with the trailing stop while losers are cut at a fixed fraction of the box. Expect periods of flat or negative performance and evaluate it over months, not days.
BACKTESTING Use "Every tick based on real ticks" or "Every tick", XAUUSD, M15 chart, with your broker's real spread and commission. Results vary across brokers due to different GMT offsets, spreads and swap. Load the provided .set file that matches your account size before testing. The screenshots on this page come from the 200,000 USD risk-percent preset; running the EA with 0.01 fixed lot on a very small balance produces a much higher relative drawdown and is not representative of the intended configuration.
