HMR Detector EA
Important Note This EA cannot be evaluated in the Strategy Tester because backtesting environments do not simulate real-time High Margin Requirement (HMR) events or unexpected broker-side margin changes. HMR Detector relies on reading live margin conditions directly from the broker's server. Therefore, its protection features should be evaluated on a demo or live trading account.
Overview HMR Detector EA is a risk-protection Expert Advisor designed for MetaTrader 5. Its primary objective is to continuously monitor the margin requirements imposed by the broker in real-time. It detects situations where the broker suddenly increases the required margin for open positions, which often happens during major news events, market volatility, weekends, or broker-side leverage changes. The EA identifies these abnormal margin increases and automatically takes protective actions before the account faces excessive margin pressure.
The EA works by comparing the margin calculated by the MetaTrader terminal with the actual margin currently blocked by the broker's server. If the real margin requirement exceeds the expected margin by a predefined threshold (e.g., 1.5x), the EA identifies an HMR condition and activates its protection mechanism.
Main Features

Real-Time Margin Monitoring: Continuously monitors account margin usage, updating calculations every second using standard MetaTrader functions. Information is displayed clearly on the chart dashboard.

Automatic Margin Learning: Learns the broker's actual margin requirements automatically by comparing the expected margin with the real blocked margin.

HMR Detection: The EA considers HMR active when the Actual Margin Requirement is strictly greater than 1.5 times the Normal Margin Requirement.

Protection Modes When HMR is detected, the EA can perform one of the following actions depending on your settings:

No Action Mode: Only displays alerts without modifying any trades. Suitable for traders who prefer manual control.

Hedge Mode (Default): Calculates net market exposure and opens an opposite trade of equal size to reduce directional market risk. For example, if you have a "Buy 3 Lots EURUSD" position open, the EA will open a "Sell 3 Lots EURUSD" to neutralize the exposure.

Close Mode: Closes all open positions on the current symbol to remove market exposure completely and prevent further margin utilization.
Broker and Instrument Compatibility HMR Detector is designed using standard MetaTrader 5 functions and does not rely on broker-specific configurations. It automatically adapts to different leverage settings and margin policies.
