Price Channel Pro: Adaptive Trend & Regression Channel Indicator
Price Channel Pro is a technical analysis indicator for MetaTrader 5 (MT5) designed to identify market trends using Pearson correlation analysis and dynamically selected regression periods. It plots price channels directly on the chart, helping traders analyze trend direction, channel structure, and potential support and resistance areas.
Unlike indicators that use only a single fixed calculation period, Price Channel Pro offers Short-term and Long-term modes, allowing users to analyze different market conditions with adjustable channel settings and an informative on-chart dashboard.
1. Dynamic Period Selection Technology
Price Channel Pro includes an automatic period-selection mechanism that evaluates multiple lookback periods and selects a period according to the Pearson correlation values calculated by the indicator.
- Short-term Mode: Evaluates periods ranging from 20 to 200 bars.
- Long-term Mode: Evaluates periods ranging from 300 to 1200 bars.
The selected period adapts to the calculated trend relationship within the available lookback range, reducing the need to manually experiment with individual periods.
Short-Term Trend Analysis
Short-term mode is designed for analyzing relatively recent price movements. It can help traders examine developing trends, momentum changes, and shorter regression channels.
Long-Term Trend Analysis
Long-term mode focuses on a broader historical price range. It can help traders study extended market direction and identify longer-term regression channel structures.
2. Dynamic Regression Channels
Price Channel Pro calculates and displays regression-based channel boundaries using a configurable standard deviation multiplier.
The channel consists of:
- Upper Channel: Helps visualize the upper boundary of the calculated price channel.
- Regression Line: Represents the calculated linear trend across the selected period.
- Lower Channel: Helps visualize the lower boundary of the calculated price channel.
These lines can be used as analytical references when studying potential support and resistance zones, price reactions, channel breakouts, and changes in market direction. The displayed levels are mathematical channel boundaries, not guaranteed reversal or breakout levels.
3. Pearson Correlation-Based Trend Strength
The indicator evaluates the Pearson correlation value associated with the selected regression period and displays trend information on its dashboard.
Depending on the calculated value and the indicator’s classification logic, the dashboard can present trend-strength categories such as Extremely Weak, Moderate, Very Strong, or Ultra Strong.
This information helps traders compare the strength of the calculated linear price relationship across different market conditions. Correlation measures the relationship between price and the regression line; it does not guarantee that a trend will continue.
4. CAGR Tracker for Longer-Term Analysis
Price Channel Pro includes a CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) module for evaluating annualized price movement over the selected trend period, where applicable.
This feature can be useful when examining longer-term charts, including daily and weekly timeframes, and comparing historical price performance across markets such as forex, stocks, and cryptocurrencies.
CAGR is a historical calculation and should not be interpreted as a forecast of future returns.
5. Customizable On-Chart Dashboard
The indicator provides a configurable dashboard designed to display key calculation results without requiring traders to inspect every channel setting manually.
Available customization options include:
- Dashboard positioning on the chart.
- Automatic period information.
- Trend status display.
- Trend-strength display.
- CAGR information.

6. Input Parameters
Channel Settings
Period Mode
- Short-term: Evaluates the shorter lookback range.
- Long-term: Evaluates the longer lookback range.
Deviation Multiplier
- Controls the channel width based on the calculated standard deviation.
- Default value: 2.0.
Extend Style
- Right: Extends channel lines to the right.
- Left: Extends channel lines to the left.
- Both: Extends channel lines in both directions.
Dashboard Settings
Table Position: Select the dashboard placement on the chart.
Display Options: Enable or disable the available Auto-Period, Trend Status, Strength, and CAGR modules.
Text Size: Adjust the dashboard text size.
Vertical Spacing: Adjust the spacing between dashboard rows.

Price Channel Pro is developed for MetaTrader 5 and combines regression-channel visualization, Pearson correlation analysis, automatic period selection, and configurable chart information in one indicator.
