Apex Drawdown Zero — XAUUSD Range Breakout Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5
Apex Drawdown Zero is a range breakout Expert Advisor designed for XAUUSD on the M15 timeframe. The EA identifies a price range during the Asian session window (02:00 to 06:00 server time) and opens a position when price breaks out of that range. Each trade is opened with a fixed stop-loss calculated from the size of the detected range. Open positions are closed at the end of the trading day if they are in profit. In the default configuration, the EA opens a maximum of one trade per day.
The strategy is rules-based. The EA does not use martingale, grid entries, or position averaging. A stop-loss is attached to every position at the moment it is opened.
Risk is controlled by a fixed dollar amount per trade. The lot size is calculated from the stop-loss distance so that the monetary risk matches the value set in the input parameters. An optional range quality filter can be enabled to skip entries when the detected range falls outside a configured size band. An optional news-hours filter is included and disabled by default.
What is included
The product includes the compiled EA file for MetaTrader 5, a setup manual in PDF format with parameter values for three included preset configurations, and an installation and parameter reference guide. Updates and support are provided through the MQL5 messaging system.
Three preset configurations are supplied. Set B is supplied as a starting configuration with a lower risk setting. Set A and Set C use slightly higher risk settings. All parameter values are documented in the included manual.
Backtest reference
A backtest was run on XAUUSD M15 for January 2026 using Set B on a 500 USD starting deposit. The backtest is provided as a reference for the period tested. Backtest results reflect one specific data set and do not represent results that will be repeated in live trading. Buyers are advised to run the EA on a demo account before any live deployment.
Platform and account requirements
The EA runs on MetaTrader 5 only. The required symbol is XAUUSD and the required timeframe is M15. The recommended minimum deposit is 100 USD. The recommended deposit for live use is 500 USD or higher. The EA is compatible with Standard, ECN, and Raw Spread account types. A spread under 3 pips on XAUUSD is recommended. Minimum leverage of 1:100 is recommended.
The EA uses broker server time for its range detection window and for the end-of-day close. Server time offset must be confirmed before deployment, and the range and close times in the inputs adjusted if needed.
Prop firm use
The EA places one trade per day in the default configuration and attaches a stop-loss to every position. Traders using the EA on funded or evaluation accounts should reduce the RiskAmount parameter to a value appropriate for the account size and the drawdown limits of their account provider.

Risk: RiskType 0 (fixed amount), RiskAmount in the 50 to 150 range for accounts under 1000 USD, RiskPercent 1.5, MaxRiskPercent 25.0, StopLossFactor 1.1. Position management: CloseHour 23, CloseMin 5, MaxTradesPerDay 1, AllowEODProfit true. Filters: UseRangeFilter false, MinRangePercent 1.54, MaxRangePercent 1.80, AvoidNewsHours false.

Frequently asked questions
Can the EA be used on a 100 USD account? Yes, with the RiskAmount reduced. The manual contains scaling notes for smaller accounts.
Does the EA work on other symbols? The EA is designed for XAUUSD M15 and has not been tested on other symbols or timeframes.
Is a VPS required? A VPS is recommended. The EA requires the terminal to be running during the 02:00 to 06:00 server time window for the range to be detected.
Can multiple configurations be run on the same account? Running more than one configuration on the same account is not recommended.
Support
Support is provided through the MQL5 private messaging system on the seller profile. Updates to the EA are included with the purchase.
