Apex Drawdown Zero is a selective, fully automated trading robot for MetaTrader 5, designed for traders who prioritize controlled exposure and drawdown protection over constant market activity. It trades XAUUSD, EURUSD and EURJPY on the H1 timeframe, with a maximum of one qualified trade per day, percentage-based position sizing and a structural stop-loss attached from the moment of entry.

How this EA trades
Each day the robot maps the key session range and evaluates how price behaves around its boundaries. A multi-stage qualification engine checks trend alignment, candle quality, timing windows, volatility and spread conditions before allowing a trade. When no setup meets the required quality thresholds, the EA remains flat and does not trade that day.
In Version 9, the principal thresholds — including the breakout buffer, range filter and stop distance — are volatility-relative and ATR-based. This allows the logic to adapt to changing market conditions instead of relying only on fixed symbol-specific values. The default settings were developed using real tick-level data across XAUUSD, EURUSD and EURJPY and evaluated with out-of-sample testing.
Designed for selective trading
The EA is designed to avoid unnecessary overtrading. It can stop trading for the day after a winning trade, applies a hard daily entry cutoff and uses spread and broker-condition checks before placing an order. Its objective is to participate only when the complete setup qualification process is satisfied.

Prop Firm Protection — FTMO-Style Guardian Edition
The package includes a dedicated prop-firm edition with an integrated Guardian protection layer. It is designed to help traders manage daily-loss and maximum-drawdown limits on challenge and funded accounts. Protection settings must always be adjusted to match the current rules of your specific provider.
The Guardian layer includes a daily-loss halt with a safety buffer, a maximum-drawdown halt with a safety buffer, target lock after the configured profit objective is reached, Friday flat-close for accounts that cannot hold weekend positions, and automatic initial-balance tracking per account login.
The Guardian layer cannot guarantee that a challenge will be passed or prevent losses caused by market gaps, slippage, broker execution, platform outages, rejected orders or changes to proprietary-firm rules. Losses from other Expert Advisors and manual trades may also count toward your account limits.
Automatic position sizing for any account size
Position sizing is calculated as a percentage of account equity or balance according to the selected settings. Lot size, margin requirements and broker volume limits are recalculated for each trade. The same configuration concept can be used on small or large accounts, subject to broker conditions and the selected risk level.
Supported setup
Recommended symbols: XAUUSD, EURUSD and EURJPY. Recommended timeframe: H1. Compatible account types may include Standard, ECN and Raw Spread accounts, depending on broker conditions. Leverage of 1:30 or higher is recommended where permitted. A minimum deposit of 100 USD is possible for testing, while 500 USD or higher is recommended for live use. A VPS is recommended because the EA operates on live ticks and should run continuously.
Broker server time affects the daily session and entry cutoff. Confirm your broker's server time before live deployment. Other symbols are not officially supported without separate testing and optimization. Indices such as US30 are not recommended.

Getting started
Attach the EA to an XAUUSD, EURUSD or EURJPY H1 chart and enable algorithmic trading. Leave Preset on AUTO or load the set file that matches your account type. Confirm that the on-chart dashboard displays SCANNING. Frequently asked questions
The EA has not traded today. Is something wrong?
Not necessarily. The EA takes a maximum of one qualified trade per day and may remain flat when market conditions do not meet the required criteria. Several no-trade days can be normal for a selective strategy.
Does it work with prop-firm accounts?
The included Guardian edition provides configurable daily-loss, maximum-drawdown, target-lock and Friday-close controls for prop-firm-style trading. You must compare the settings with your provider's current rules before deployment.
Which symbols and timeframe are supported?
The EA is designed and validated for XAUUSD, EURUSD and EURJPY on H1. With Preset on AUTO, the EA loads the corresponding symbol configuration. Other symbols require separate testing and are not officially supported.
Can I run it alongside other EAs?
Yes. The EA manages its own trades using its magic number. However, losses from other EAs and manual trades may still count toward broker or prop-firm account limits.
