Tidewell XAU Trend

Tidewell XAU Trend is an automated trend-following Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, built for XAUUSD (gold) on the M15 chart. It waits for short-term momentum to line up with the broader trend before entering, and every trade is sent with a stop loss and a take profit. Simple on-chart controls let you adjust it at any time without opening the settings.

Download and install Tidewell from the Market in the MetaTrader 5 desktop terminal, then attach it to an XAUUSD M15 chart. The recommended .set files and the user manual (PDF) are in the Comments section of this product page.

Overview

Tidewell is selective by design. It trades only when several independent trend and momentum checks agree, and it stays out when the market is not clearly trending. Position size is calculated from the stop distance and the risk you choose, and a drawdown limit protects the account.

A small window in the top-left corner of the chart shows Tidewell's status, results and open trades. Click the small arrow at its top right to open six tabs, or hover over the i icon for a quick guide. You can turn trading on or off and change the risk level directly on the chart.

Core Features

Trend Confirmation: Enters only when short-term momentum and the higher-timeframe trend agree.
Stop Loss and Take Profit: Every trade is sent with both, so no position is left without protection.
Risk-Based Trade Size: Trade size comes from the stop distance and your chosen percentage of equity (0.25% by default).
Drawdown Limit: If the account falls by your chosen limit from its peak (at most 50%), Tidewell closes its trades and pauses for a set number of bars.
Daily and Losing-Streak Pauses: New entries pause after the daily loss limit is reached or after a series of losing trades.
On-Chart Controls: See balance, equity, today's result and drawdown at a glance, and change risk level, trade direction, trade size, maximum trades, maximum spread, session filter and drawdown limit live. Changes apply to new trades and are remembered for that chart.
Safe Close All: The Close all button closes only Tidewell's own trades, and asks you to click twice to confirm.
Recommended Settings Button: Loads the suggested XAUUSD M15 setup in one click, and you can revert it.

Important Notes

Tidewell trades long only by default and is designed for XAUUSD M15. Other symbols and timeframes are not the recommended setup.
Always test Tidewell on a demo account before using it on a live account.
Broker execution, spread, swap, commission and slippage can materially affect results.
In the Strategy Tester the on-chart controls only show figures, so backtests always follow the inputs.
