It is built on one simple, testable idea: gold spends long periods trending, and the best way to catch those trends is a breakout in the direction of the trend, with a small, fixed risk on each attempt. Aurum does not try to win often. It tries to lose small and win big.

HOW IT TRADES

1. Trend: the fast EMA (20) must be above the slow EMA (200) for buys, below it for sells. Sells also require a daily downtrend (price below the D1 EMA 200).

2. Breakout: a closed H1 candle breaks the 20-bar channel in the trend direction. Signals use closed bars only.

3. Protection: a hard Stop Loss at 2.5 x ATR is placed with the order. The lot size is calculated from your risk percentage.

4. Exit: the H1 trade runs until the trend flips (EMA cross). The optional H4 swing engine uses a 60-bar channel and a 5R take profit.

At most one position per engine (two engines = at most two positions). Never a grid, martingale, averaging or recovery lot.

RECOMMENDED SETTINGS

Symbol: XAUUSD (any suffix, e.g. XAUUSDm, GOLD). Attach to an H1 chart. One chart is enough.
Regular accounts: Risk per trade 0.5% (default).
Prop-firm accounts: Risk per trade 0.15% (backtest worst drawdown 6.9% on a 100,000 USD account), and set "Daily loss limit" and "Stop new trades at drawdown" a little inside your firm's limits.
Recommended deposit: 3,000 USD or more. On smaller accounts the broker's 0.01 minimum lot risks more than 0.5% per trade (the EA skips any trade where it would exceed 5% of equity).
Any broker with low gold spreads; ECN/raw accounts are preferred. A VPS is recommended for 24/5 running.
