Risk Guard Trade Assistant MT5
Plan your trade, calculate position size and manage account rules from the chart. Risk Guard combines a trade assistant, risk management controls and a trading journal for manual traders using MetaTrader 5 hedging accounts.
Choose the entry, stop-loss and profit target, then review the calculated lot size and projected risk before sending an order. Use the Protection panel to define account rules, and use Analytics to review your trading activity afterwards.
Trade planning and position management
- Plan market, limit and stop orders directly from the chart panel.
- Calculate position size from a percentage risk, a cash amount or a specified lot size.
- View entry, stop-loss and profit-target lines on the chart.
- Link the profit target to a chosen reward-to-risk ratio.
- Prepare up to two partial profit targets before the final target closes the remaining volume.
- Configure break-even and trailing-stop rules for the trade.
- Manage selected positions and pending orders from the panel.
The lot calculation uses the broker's symbol specifications and your selected settings. Projected risk and reward are estimates; actual execution, costs and price gaps can change the result.
Account-wide protection rules
- Daily equity-loss threshold with a stop until midnight after triggering.
- Symbol-specific volume limits and loss budgets.
- A configurable pause after a symbol loss budget is reached, for that symbol or for all symbols.
- Entry limits per day and over a rolling 60-minute window.
- Handling of positions without a stop-loss, using a configurable grace period and action.
- Trading-hour, weekday, weekend and swap-related rules.
Account protection when trading from your phone
Trade from your phone with the same account rules. Risk Guard monitors positions and pending orders on the account, including trades placed through MT5 mobile, another desktop terminal or other trading programs. Keep desktop MT5 and Risk Guard running on your computer or Windows VPS, connected to the same broker account, with protection mode and Algo Trading / EA trading permissions enabled. The Guard runs in desktop MT5; your phone does not need to keep the mobile app open for the Guard to monitor the account.
The Risk Guard panel can reject a new draft before submission. Mobile and other external orders reach the broker first. The Guard then detects rule violations and can close positions or delete pending orders, subject to the configured rules and broker execution. This is not a pre-execution block on the phone. Missing-stop-loss handling follows the selected waiting period and action.
Trading journal and behaviour analytics
Review completed trades in a calendar or searchable trade list. Filter by symbol, direction and period, and inspect trade size, holding time and net results after attributable costs.
Analytics includes account history, costs, symbols and direction, times and weekdays, holding time, trading activity and behaviour after losses. Compare subsequent trades by pause length to examine your own trading patterns.
The analysis describes available history. It does not predict future returns or automatically create trading signals. Equity charts use recorded samples where available; they do not reconstruct an unavailable historical equity curve.
Setup and requirements
- Install the product through the MQL5 Market in MetaTrader 5.
- Attach Risk Guard to a chart on a hedging account. Start with a demo account to become familiar with the controls.
- Review the account currency, broker symbol names and time settings.
- Configure your Protection rules and save them deliberately. Check the status shown in the panel.
- Set the trade risk, entry, stop-loss, target and any automation rules. Review the draft before sending it.
The complete trading panel requires a hedging account. Account rules are shared across the account; review their scope before combining Risk Guard with other trading tools. Automated protection and trade management require Algo Trading and the EA's trading permissions to be enabled, and MT5 to remain running and connected.
The interface is available in English, German, Russian, Spanish, Indonesian and French. It starts in English; select your language in the panel. Version 2.14 includes an optional economic news filter with Today and This Week views, configurable release windows and currency mappings. The calendar starts automatically; no separate installation or WebRequest permission is required. While the news rule is enabled, missing or stale calendar data blocks new entries. Screenshots show native MT5 views, example draft settings and existing live account history. Historical results illustrate the analytics interface; they were not generated by Risk Guard and are not a forecast.
