Relay Grid MT5

Relay Grid is a mean-reversion GRID on AUDNZD, AUDCAD and NZDCAD from one M15 chart: the lot grows with each level (up to 9 trades) and there is NO stop loss by default. It is the only grid in our lineup. 2024.03-2026.09 real-tick backtest with default inputs: PF 1.44, max equity drawdown 14.4% on $3,000. Reproducible: same inputs, same period, your own tester.
What it does
The EA watches the three pairs from one chart. When a pair closes outside its Bollinger Band (35, 2.0) and RSI(20) is far from 50, it opens a first trade toward the mean at market. If price keeps moving against it, it adds trades at a distance of 35 pips, widened automatically when volatility (ATR) is higher, up to 9 trades on that pair. The whole basket closes together at a weighted profit target. Only one pair runs a grid at a time by default.
The lot is NOT fixed. Trade 2 uses the same lot as trade 1; trades 3 to 5 each double the previous lot; from trade 6 each is 1.6 times the previous. Starting from 0.01, a full 9-trade basket is roughly 0.01, 0.01, 0.02, 0.04, 0.08, 0.13, 0.20, 0.33, 0.52 lots. The starting lot is 0.01 x floor(balance / 330,000), never below the broker minimum, so it stays at 0.01 on accounts below 330,000 in account currency. There is no stop loss and no drawdown stop by default (InpGridSL = 0, InpMaxDrawdownPct = 100); you can set them yourself.
Why you can trust the numbers
Every figure on this page comes from one routine you can repeat:
- Tester and data: MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, "Every tick based on real ticks", history quality 100%.
- Broker, symbol, period: Tradexfin Limited (XMTrading), AUDNZD# M15, 2024.03.01 - 2026.09.25 (the broker has real ticks for all three pairs from 2024.02).
- Account: initial deposit $3,000, leverage 1:100, default inputs except InpSymbolSuffix = # (the broker's symbol suffix, not a strategy input).
- Three runs, median shown: three runs with random execution delay; the run with the median profit factor is shown. Profit factor of the three runs: 1.08 - 1.45; maximum equity drawdown of the three runs: $432 - $1,104. The spread between runs is wide, and we show it for that reason.
If your run differs, post your broker and report in the Comments tab.

Requirements
- Hedging account. AUDNZD, AUDCAD and NZDCAD must be available; set InpSymbolSuffix if your broker adds a suffix (the test above used "#").
- Recommended deposit: $3,000 for the default 0.01 starting lot (the deposit used in the test above).
- Attach to one M15 chart of any of the three pairs. A VPS running 24/5.
- Consider setting InpMaxDrawdownPct or InpGridSL to a level you accept.
Risks
- This is an averaging grid with increasing lots. A long one-way move in AUD, NZD or CAD can build a large floating loss before the basket closes. Without a stop loss, that loss is limited only by your account.
- Drawdown: the maximum equity drawdown in the published run is $432, 14.4% of the $3,000 deposit; across the three runs it reached $1,104 (36.8% of $3,000). Size accordingly; we consider 10% the comfortable ceiling.
- Losing trades are large: win rate 78.8%, average loss $4.97 against an average win of $1.93. Most baskets close in profit; the risk sits in the few that run deep. The longest losing streak in the test was 6 trades.
- Up to 9 positions were open at once in the test (median 2 when a new one opened).
- Swaps accumulate while a basket stays open for days.
- Profit is uneven over time: 2024-2025 account for 72.8% of the net profit. Years with a loss: none.

Where it sits in the lineup
Gold (XAUUSD), from one behaviour to the full set:
- Gold Swing Break MT5: one H4 swing breakout, one position at a time, low frequency.
- Gold Flash Scalper MT5: 32-hour channel breakout, one position at a time, fast trailing stop. The entry point for small accounts.
- Triple Trigger MT5: breakouts of the 24, 48 and 72-hour rolling high/low, trailing exits.
- Gold Nine Layer: a nine-slot pivot-breakout group on one chart (7 slots active in the default tables).
- Gold Grand Line MT5: 6 groups on one chart, 29 active facets. It contains the Gold Nine Layer, Gold Swing Break and Gold Flash Scalper engines (same rules and tables) plus three groups that are not sold separately on MQL5. Triple Trigger is not part of it.
Other markets:
- OIL Surge Break MT5: WTI crude oil (USOIL) H1 swing breakouts.
- Relay Grid MT5: AUDNZD / AUDCAD / NZDCAD mean-reversion grid whose lot grows with each level, no stop loss by default. The only grid in the lineup; every other EA above trades 0.01 lot per order with no averaging down and no martingale.
Utility:
- Adaptive Closer MT5 (free): manage all open positions on a symbol as one book from a chart panel.
