Understanding the Trading Strategy

AMG Gold is a fully automated Expert Advisor that trades XAUUSD (Gold). It places pending Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders at significant historical price levels. When price breaks through a level with momentum, the order triggers and captures the continuation move.
The system does not use grid or martingale.

What sets AMG Gold apart is that it runs several entry models — each with its own level detection, stop-loss, take-profit, and trade-management logic. Some are tuned for trending markets, others for range conditions, so the EA keeps finding opportunities across different market regimes instead of depending on one pattern.

What this means for your trades: Breakout trading has a moderate win rate with asymmetric reward. Not every breakout follows through — some reverse and stop out for a small loss. The edge comes from the strong directional moves when they do occur, and from running several uncorrelated strategies so one strategy's quiet period is offset by another's. A run of small stop-outs followed by a larger winner is the strategy working as intended.

One Dial, Six Risk Profiles

The Risk Profile input is your single master control. Each profile selects a specific, back-tested combination of the internal strategies and the matching risk budget — so moving from Low to Aggressive adds both more strategies and more exposure.

Per-Level Risk Control

Because several strategies can target the same key price level at once, AMG Gold includes a total-risk-per-level cap. Instead of each strategy sizing blindly, the EA counts how many orders sit on a level and shares one risk budget across them — so a cluster of orders on a single breakout level can't quietly turn a 1% trade into a 10% one. This is what keeps the higher profiles diversified instead of over-concentrated.

How AMG Gold Protects Your Account

Hard stop loss: Every trade carries a fixed maximum loss. The stop is never removed or widened.
Total-risk-per-level cap: Stacked orders on the same level share one risk budget instead of multiplying it.
Max daily loss limit: If the account drops by your set percentage in a day, the EA closes everything and pauses until the next session. Recommended: 3–5%.
Margin & exposure guard: The EA checks free margin in real time and scales down or skips orders it cannot safely afford.
Spread filter: Orders are skipped when the spread is abnormally wide, protecting you from poor fills in illiquid periods.
Friday auto-close: All trades and pending orders are closed before the weekend to avoid Sunday-gap risk.
No martingale, no grid: Every position is sized independently on its own stop distance.

Note on small accounts: Gold's high price means a small balance can force the EA up to the minimum 0.01 lot, which overshoots the intended risk — most noticeable on the higher profiles where many orders share a level. On accounts under ~$3,000, use the Low profile or a Fixed lot. The EA raises an on-chart alert whenever the real risk exceeds the target so you are never surprised.
