Overview
NEXUS X ENGINE is an algorithmic trading Expert Advisor specifically designed to trade the XAU/USD (Gold) pair on the 15-minute timeframe. Its architecture combines Smart Money Concepts (SMC) methodology with momentum analysis using MACD, integrating both signals into a pending order execution engine with dynamic risk management and adaptive trailing stops.
The system operates with an institutional philosophy: it identifies the footprints left by smart money in the gold market and aligns its entries with the direction of institutional flow, filtering market noise through a double layer of confirmation.
Main Modules
🔷 SMC Engine — Smart Money Concepts Processor The EA's analytical core detects and visualizes the three pillars of institutional analysis in real time:
Order Blocks (OB): Identifies the last bearish candle before an upward impulse (bullish OB) and the last bullish candle before a downward impulse (bearish OB), within a configurable window of up to 50 candles. These blocks represent areas where institutional money left unexecuted orders.
Break of Structure (BOS): Detects breakouts of previous swing highs and lows, confirming both bullish and bearish market structure changes.
Fair Value Gaps (FVG): Maps price imbalances generated by impulse candles, marking areas of high probability of price reversal.
All SMC elements are visually rendered on the chart with distinct and configurable colors.
🔷 MACD Bus — Momentum Signal Processor: A momentum filter based on the classic MACD (12/26/9 by default). The EA only enables buy signals when the MACD confirms bullish momentum, and sell signals when it confirms bearish momentum. Both filters (SMC + MACD) must be aligned for an order to be executed.
🔷 Execution Core — Pending Order Engine: Operates exclusively using Buy Stop and Sell Stop orders, placing orders above/below the current price with a configurable delta. It includes:
Maximum entry distance control (Theta / Inhibition Range)
Fixed Stop Loss in points
Adaptive Trailing Stop with dynamic range that adjusts proportionally to accumulated profit
🔷 Frequency Bus — Order Throttle Control Anti-overtrading system with two independent modes:
Bar Mode: requires a minimum number of candles between orders (default 5 bars on M15 = 75 minutes)
Time Mode: controls by minutes elapsed since the last order
🔷 Clock Gate — Trading Window Defines the active trading hours (default 01:00 – 23:00 server time), allowing the exclusion of low-liquidity time periods.
🔷 Display Unit — Chart Renderer Upon initialization, the EA automatically applies a dark and professional visual scheme to the chart (near-black background, electric cyan/neon magenta candles, dark grid), optimized for reading SMC zones.
Capital Management
The EA offers two sizing modes:
