Index Synthetics Deriv
Multi-symbol Expert Advisor for Deriv Synthetic Indices. Single-chart deployment.
Index Synthetics EA monitors and trades up to 40 Deriv synthetic indices from a single chart. Each index has its own entry rules, stop loss and take profit, calibrated for its volatility and behaviour. The approach prioritises disciplined risk control and selective entries over high trade frequency.
Every position is opened with stop loss and take profit attached from the first moment. The EA does not use grid, martingale or averaging, and never adds to a losing position.
This product is actively maintained and may receive updates to improve stability and adapt to changing market behaviour.
Key Features
- Up to 40 synthetic indices managed from one EA instance
- Automatic lot sizing from account balance and real stop loss distance, or fixed manual volumes
- Three take profit modes: Scalper, Equilibrium and Extreme
- Instrument-specific logic and filtering per index
- Daily loss limit, automatic index suspension and optional break-even
- On-chart panel with account, index and signal status
- One-step deployment: attach once, the engine handles the rest
Important: Single-Chart Rule
This EA contains a multi-symbol engine and must be attached to one chart only. Recommended setup: Step Index, H1. Never change the timeframe while the EA is running.
From version 2.1 the EA detects this by itself. If a second copy is attached to another chart of the same terminal, that copy does not trade and the panel displays DUPLICATE INSTANCE - TRADING OFF . Detection covers charts within the same terminal; if you run two separate terminals on the same account, keep the EA in only one of them.
If you already attached it to several charts, remove them all, keep one, and reduce any duplicated exposure carefully before continuing.
Lot Size Modes
Automatic Lot Size (default)
The EA calculates the volume of every position by itself, using the current balance and the real stop loss distance of that entry. It looks for the smallest volume the index allows whose risk reaches the configured minimum, and accepts it only if the risk stays below the configured maximum.
Default range: 2% to 10% of balance per position. The EA always aims at the lower end and only goes higher when the index minimum volume leaves no smaller option. Volume is recalculated on every entry, so it follows the balance up and down.
If even the smallest volume an index allows would exceed the maximum risk, the signal is discarded instead of being opened with more risk than requested. This happens when the account is small relative to a specific index. Discarded signals appear on the panel with the index name and the reason.
No lot table and no volume configuration are needed in this mode.
Manual Lot Size
Each index uses a fixed volume set by the user, as in previous versions. The lot table below applies to this mode.
Both modes use exactly the same entry rules. Only the position size changes.
Take Profit Modes
Stop loss values are identical in all three modes and are never modified.
| Mode | Take profit | Ratio |
|---|---|---|
| Scalper (default) | Original short target of each strategy | Varies per strategy |
| Equilibrium | Same distance as that strategy's stop loss | 1:1 |
| Extreme | Twice the distance of that strategy's stop loss | 1:2 |
Entry rules, filters and waiting times are identical in the three modes. Wider targets mean longer holding times and fewer positions closed per day. Please test the three modes in the Strategy Tester with your own broker data before choosing one.
Capital and Lot Scaling
Minimum recommended capital: 500 USD
With Automatic Lot Size, the table below is reference only; the EA sizes every position itself and does not depend on a reference price.
With Manual Lot Size, the table is calibrated for a 500 USD balance as a low-risk configuration. For a different balance, scale proportionally:
New Lot Size = Table Lot Size x (Your Capital / 500)
For 1000 USD multiply by 2.00, for 2000 USD multiply by 4.00. If an index uses an additional lot size (Lotaje2), apply the same scaling.
The table is reviewed approximately every 6 months, because the price of synthetic indices changes over time and with it the value per lot. If the current price deviates significantly from the reference, the effective risk changes too, so always use the latest version of the table.

Input Parameters
Inputs are organised in groups inside the EA properties window.
| Group | Parameter | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. General | Magic Number | 41092537 | Identifies this EA's trades. Manual trades and other EAs are never touched. |
| 2. Daily Risk | Max Daily Loss | 20.0 % | Percentage of the balance at the start of the day. When reached, the EA closes its own positions and pauses for 24 hours. |
| 3. Break-Even | Enable Move SL to Break-Even | false | Moves the stop loss to the entry price once the position has covered part of the way to its target. |
| Trigger Level | 95 % | How far towards the target before the stop loss moves. Values 60 to 95. Used only when break-even is enabled. | |
| 4. Lot Size | Lot Size Mode | Automatic | Automatic (risk based) or Manual (fixed volumes). |
| Automatic Lot, minimum risk | 2.0 % | Lower end of the risk range. The EA aims at this value first. | |
| Automatic Lot, maximum risk | 10.0 % | Upper limit. Above this, the signal is discarded. | |
| 5. Take Profit | Take Profit Mode | Scalper | Scalper, Equilibrium or Extreme. |
| 6 to 13. Manual Lot | One input per index | See table | Grouped by family: Step, Boom, Crash, Volatility, Jump, Vol over Crash/Boom, Trek and DEX. Used only in Manual mode. |
Note on Max Daily Loss: it must be consistent with your volumes and balance. If the account is underfunded for the selected volumes, or the limit is too strict, the EA may pause during normal intraday movement. It is a limit per 24 hour window, not a limit on total drawdown over a longer period.
Note on break-even: it can reduce drawdown, and it can also close positions during normal retracements that would otherwise have reached their target. A position closed exactly at the entry price finishes slightly negative once spread or commission is accounted for.
Built-in Protections
| Protection | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Daily loss limit | Closes this EA's positions and pauses 24 hours when the daily threshold is reached. |
| Automatic index suspension | If an index accumulates two closed positions with a negative net result within 15 days, it is suspended for 20 days and then reactivates by itself. Only this EA's positions are counted. |
| Duplicate instance | A second copy on another chart of the same terminal does not trade and says so on the panel. |
| Trading environment | If algo trading is off or the account does not allow Expert Advisors, the panel states the reason. |
| Symbol availability | At start-up the EA resolves each index against the server and writes the result in the log. Indices your account does not offer are skipped; the rest keep working. |
| Order validation | Volume limits, volume step, broker minimum stop distance and free margin are checked before every order. |
The index suspension is intentional: it steps away from an index behaving differently from what the strategy expects. It is the reason the panel can show fewer monitored indices than the total.
On-Chart Panel
The panel shows the EA name and version, the trading status (monitoring, paused by the daily limit with remaining time, duplicate instance, or environment problem), the number of indices monitored out of the total with how many are suspended and how many unavailable, the balance, profit and loss of the day with the daily risk bar, and the number of discarded signals with the index and reason of the last one.
That last line exists to make support easier: you can report what the panel says without opening the log.
How to Start
- Open Deriv MT5 and add the synthetic indices to Market Watch (right-click, Show All).
- Open a Step Index chart on H1.
- Attach the EA to that chart only and enable Algo Trading.
- Choose the Lot Size Mode. Automatic needs no further setup; Manual needs the volumes from the table.
- Choose the Take Profit Mode. Scalper is the default.
The EA then initialises the engine, validates the symbols and starts monitoring automatically.
Backtesting note: a backtest may take several hours, because the tester downloads and processes data for every symbol the system trades. Please be patient.
Operational note: avoid frequent restarts. Each strategy uses internal waiting times between entries, and restarting resets them. A VPS helps if your connection is unstable. A dedicated account, without mixing several EAs, keeps the daily loss calculation aligned with what this EA is actually doing.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| EA is not trading | Look at the panel first: it names the reason when algo trading is off, the account does not allow EAs, the daily limit has paused the EA, or the copy is a duplicate. Then confirm Market Watch is on Show All and that you are on a Deriv synthetic account. |
| Signals are being discarded | Check the discarded signals counter on the panel. In Automatic mode, an account that is small relative to a specific index will discard its signals, because the smallest volume that index allows would exceed the maximum risk. |
| Fewer indices monitored than expected | The panel separates indices suspended by the EA (they return automatically) from indices not available on your account type. The symbol list in the log confirms which ones your server offers. |
| Duplicated or too many positions | Almost always the EA attached to several charts. From 2.1 the second copy detects it and stops. Remove all instances and keep one. |
