SuperTrend Strategy 1H is a trend-following expert advisor for MetaTrader 5, built for gold (XAUUSD) and silver (XAGUSD). It reads the dominant trend direction on the H1 chart, opens a single position with a volatility-adjusted stop loss and a staged take-profit, and manages it according to fixed rules until it closes. Built-in loss controls, a spread filter and a spike filter keep unusual market conditions from turning into unmanaged risk. The goal is a disciplined, rule-based metals trading robot you can run unattended and still understand at a glance.

HOW IT WORKS
- A built-in trend filter decides market direction; a trade is only considered when the trend filter and every safety check agree.
- Entries are confirmed against a volatility/spike filter so abnormal candles are skipped rather than traded.
- Stop loss and take profit are volatility-adjusted and scale automatically with current market conditions, with a multi-stage take-profit structure.
- Only one position is open at a time. The EA does not use grid, martingale, averaging or hedging.
- An optional trading-session window restricts entries to chosen hours; it can be switched off.
- The EA closes exposure ahead of the weekend to avoid gap risk, and this can be adjusted.

BUILT-IN RISK MANAGEMENT
- Fixed-lot or risk-percentage based position sizing, with a maximum-lot safety cap.
- Daily loss stop: once the day’s result reaches your configured limit, the EA stops opening new trades until the next day.
- Margin buffer check before every entry.
- One open position at a time.

PROTECTION AND SESSION SETTINGS
- Spread filter: new entries are skipped when live spread is above your limit.
- Spike protection: entries are skipped after an abnormally large candle.
- Session filter: trade only inside a window you choose, set in GMT. It can be switched off.
- Weekend protection: optionally closes open exposure ahead of the weekend close.
- Order-send safety checks (broker freeze-level distance, tick-size price normalization, automatic filling-mode selection) reduce invalid-order errors across different brokers.

DASHBOARD AND MONITORING
An on-chart panel shows symbol and timeframe, trend direction, session status, spread status, spike status, open positions, daily drawdown against your limit, trading enabled or disabled, and balance and equity. The panel can be hidden and moved.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Symbols: XAUUSD (gold) using the EA’s default settings; XAGUSD (silver) using the included configuration file.
- Chart timeframe: H1.
- Account type: works on both hedging and netting accounts.
- Standalone: no DLL, no external files.

- Lot modes: fixed lot or risk-percentage based, plus a maximum lot cap.

BACKTEST AND TESTING METHODOLOGY
- XAUUSD, H1, default settings, modeling every tick based on real ticks, history quality 100 percent: initial deposit 10,000 USD, net profit 1,236.28 USD, profit factor 4.36, maximum equity drawdown 0.88 percent, 62 trades, win rate 74.19 percent.
- XAGUSD was validated separately using the included configuration file, through a staged optimization process with out-of-sample (forward) testing, cross-checked across two independent brokers for consistency before being finalized.
- The EA has been tested on both Pepperstone Razor and PuPrime, with results consistent across both.
- Results are from backtesting over a limited period. Live results will differ because of spread, slippage, broker feed and market conditions.

RECOMMENDATIONS
- Test on a demo account first and confirm session timing and spread on your own broker.
- Use a broker with tight, stable spreads on the traded metal.
- Review performance regularly and do not risk money you cannot afford to lose.
