👻 Phantom Trading System — Catching "traps within traps" - Version: 1.0
- Activations: 5
Phantom Trading System is a MetaTrader 5 indicator that detects failed false breakout patterns — setups where a standard false breakout forms, traps one group of traders, then fails itself, trapping the reversal traders too. The indicator identifies this double-trap moment where two groups of traders are caught on the wrong side simultaneously, and the resulting exit orders fuel a directional move. It scores each setup across 17 quality factors, draws complete trading levels on the chart, and monitors up to 150 symbols across 8 timeframes from a single window.
Depending on the current support policy, buyers may receive additional access to selected companion tools developed by the author.
Works on Forex, Gold (XAUUSD), Indices, and Crypto — any symbol and any timeframe supported by MetaTrader 5.
The Pattern: False Breakout Trap Reversal
The detection is based on a four-candle structure followed by a failure confirmation. The Range Candle (Mother Bar) establishes a clear price range with defined high and low boundaries. One to three Pause Candles (Inside Bars) form within those boundaries, compressing price. The Breakout Candle pushes price beyond one boundary, drawing in breakout traders who commit capital. The Confirmation Candle closes back inside the range, confirming the breakout was false and trapping the first group.
At this point, reversal traders enter — they see the failed breakout and trade against it. This completes a standard false breakout pattern.
The Phantom signal fires only when this reversal also fails. If price then breaks through the opposite boundary within a configurable monitoring window (default 10 bars), both the original breakout traders and the reversal traders are now trapped simultaneously. Their combined exit orders create the momentum that the Phantom signal trades into.
Two-Phase Detection Engine
The indicator runs a two-phase state machine on every completed bar. Phase 1 scans for complete 4-component false breakout patterns using configurable thresholds for range size, compression, breakout depth, and confirmation strength. Valid patterns enter a Phase 2 monitoring queue. Phase 2 watches each queued pattern for up to N bars (the Monitor Duration setting), checking whether price closes beyond the opposite boundary with enough depth to confirm failure. If failure is confirmed, a signal fires with entry, stop loss, and take profit levels drawn on the chart. If the monitoring window expires without failure, the pattern is silently removed.
17-Factor Quality Scoring
Each pattern receives a quality score from 0.0 to 1.0, calculated across 17 factors in five categories. Range Candle factors (5) evaluate range relative to ATR, body ratio, wick balance, close position, and volume. Pause Candle factors (3) assess inside bar count, compression ratio, and positioning. Breakout Candle factors (5) measure penetration distance, close depth, rejection wick size, body ratio, and formation speed. Confirmation Candle factors (3) check body strength, close depth, and engulfing ratio. A Pattern Context factor evaluates overall formation compactness. Patterns below a configurable threshold are automatically blocked.
Signal Engine v2.0 — Confluence Pipeline
The signal engine evaluates each pattern through four sequential layers. Layer A uses the 17-factor quality score as the baseline. Layer B examines relationships between candle components — breakout depth versus confirmation strength, multi-bar confirmation patterns. Layer C analyzes the surrounding market context within a configurable window, checking for indecision candles, momentum shifts, and supporting price action. Layer D aggregates all layers into a final confluence score and assigns a tier: SOLO (0.35+) for minimal supporting evidence, CONFIRMED (0.50+) for multiple aligned factors, STRONG (0.65+) for high confluence, and ULTRA (0.80+) for full alignment across all evaluation layers. Tier labels appear on the chart with color coding.
Exit Signal Monitor
Once a signal becomes active, the Exit Monitor watches for signs of trade invalidation. It reports three levels: CAUTION for early reversal patterns forming, WARNING when partial profit or tighter stops should be considered, and CRITICAL when a strong reversal is confirmed. The monitor expires after a configurable number of bars to avoid stale alerts.
Trading Levels
Every confirmed signal includes a complete set of trading levels. Entry is set above the pattern range high for BUY signals and below the range low for SELL signals. Stop Loss uses either Donchian Channel (highest high or lowest low over N bars) or ATR Multiplier (fixed distance based on ATR). Four independent Take Profit levels are available: TP1 at 0.5R, TP2 at 1.0R, TP3 at 1.5R, and TP4 at 2.0R. Each level can be individually disabled by setting its value to zero.
Detection Presets
Three presets match the indicator to different trading styles. Quality provides fewer, cleaner signals with strict thresholds for both the original false breakout and the failure confirmation. Quantity captures more patterns with relaxed formation requirements. Custom (default) gives full manual control over all parameters.
Five Signal Filters
Five independent filters act as gatekeepers between detection and chart display. Extreme Zone Filter blocks signals when price is near the top or bottom of a Donchian Channel range. Direction Filter restricts signals to trend-aligned direction using market structure analysis (BOS/CHoCH). StoplossHunt Filter validates that the breakout candle swept a prior swing level. Signal Zone Filter requires the signal to form near a structurally significant market event. Opposite Signal Filter prevents conflicting signals when an active trade is already running. Each filter is independently toggleable.
Additional Features
The MTF Scanner monitors up to 150 symbols across 8 timeframes from a single chart. Built-in Market Structure detection identifies BOS and CHoCH events with swing labels (HH, HL, LH, LL). An optional Trailing Stop Loss using Donchian-based trailing activates at a configurable R:R level and locks at breakeven after TP1. Zone Fill draws colored rectangles showing risk and reward areas. The Signal Dashboard provides live statistics including total signals, win rate, and active/completed counts. The Scanner Dashboard displays all MTF results in a grid with quality scores. Four chart themes are included (Dark Muted, Dark, Light, Custom). Four-channel alerts cover desktop popup, sound, and mobile push notifications, configurable per event type. Eight EA signal buffers are available for automated execution integration.
Recommended Usage
The indicator is designed for manual trading. It detects patterns and calculates levels but does not place or manage orders automatically. Recommended starting point is XAUUSD H1. The indicator works on all symbols and timeframes. A separate EA integration is required for automated order execution.
