Meta5 EA is an advanced rule-based Expert Advisor built for XAUUSD, combining breakout and retest logic, dynamic Areas of Interest, and multi-timeframe market analysis.
Instead of evaluating one chart in isolation, Meta5 monitors broader market structure across multiple timeframes. Higher-timeframe direction and context are used to filter setups before execution is handled on M30.
Meta5 EA reads completed M30 candles and evaluates market direction, momentum, volatility, current trading conditions, higher-timeframe confirmation, and configured account-risk limits.
If the complete setup is not present, it does not trade.
It is designed for traders who want automated Gold trading with structured risk management, defined trade handling, and no martingale or averaging into losing positions.
If you are new to Meta5 EA, the recommended first step is to test the free MQL5 Market demo in MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.

How Meta5 EA Trades
Meta5 EA uses its own closed-bar rule system. It does not enter because one indicator produces a signal. Several conditions must agree before a trade is allowed, including market direction, momentum, volatility, current trading conditions, higher-timeframe confirmation, and configured account-risk limits.
After entry, Meta5 EA can manage:
-
Hard stop loss
-
Equity-based position sizing
-
Breakeven
-
Dynamic trailing
-
Optional scaling into profitable positions
-
Total open-risk control
Scaling is only used on positions already moving in the intended direction.
Position size is not increased to recover a previous loss.
Proprietary entry conditions remain internal, while risk, protection, and trade-management settings are available to the user.
Risk and Account Protection
Meta5 EA includes account-level controls that operate separately from the entry setup. A valid trading setup can still be rejected when configured risk limits do not allow additional exposure.
Protection features include:
-
Daily equity protection
-
Overall equity protection
-
Basket risk control
-
Maximum open positions
-
Maximum daily trades
-
Loss cooldown
-
Margin protection
-
Spread protection
-
Price checks
-
Temporary connection and trading-error handling
Meta5 EA can also use the native MetaTrader 5 Economic Calendar to restrict new entries around high-impact USD events such as CPI, NFP, and major central-bank announcements.
Default news protection blocks new entries for 60 minutes before and 30 minutes after high-impact USD news. Existing positions continue receiving normal stop-loss, breakeven, and trailing management.
For Friday protection, Meta5 EA checks the broker's reported XAUUSD trading-session close. By default, new entries stop 180 minutes before the Friday session closes and open Meta5 EA positions close 60 minutes before session close.
These timings can be adjusted in the settings.
Risk Profiles
Meta5 EA includes four supplied risk profiles:
| ProfileBase RiskBasket CapDaily DDOverall DD | ||||
| PROP_SAFE_2026 | 0.50% | 1.50% | 3.50% | 8.00% |
| GROWTH_2026 | 0.75% | 2.50% | 4.00% | 14.00% |
| DD20_BALANCED_2026 | 2.00% | 6.00% | 8.00% | 20.00% |
| DD20_MAX_2026 | 2.50% | 7.50% | 10.00% | 20.00% |
For general testing, DD20_BALANCED_2026 is the profile I recommend starting with.
PROP_SAFE_2026 is the lowest-risk supplied profile. GROWTH_2026 is a moderate-risk alternative. DD20_MAX_2026 is the highest-risk supplied profile.
DD20_BALANCED_2026 and DD20_MAX_2026 are primarily intended for personal-account or demo testing and are not presented as prop-firm profiles.
Choose a risk level based on the drawdown you can realistically tolerate, not only on the highest historical return.

Meta5 EA trades the Gold symbol of the chart it is attached to.
Broker-specific names such as XAUUSD, XAUUSDm, XAUUSD.a, and GOLD# can therefore be used without a separate suffix setting.
Full multi-position scaling requires a hedging account and is not intended for FIFO-restricted or netting-only accounts.
Meta5 EA can be used from a $1,000 account balance depending on the broker's Gold contract specifications and minimum lot size. A balance of $5,000 or more is recommended because percentage-based position sizing has more room to operate around broker minimum lot sizes.
Available user settings include risk profile, risk percent, maximum positions, maximum daily trades, news protection, Friday protection, daily and overall equity limits, basket risk limit, loss cooldown, spread protection, margin protection, alerts, and optional push notifications.
Meta5 EA is designed to recover and continue managing its positions after common interruptions, including MT5 or VPS restarts. It checks live broker positions after restart and uses the broker's live position state as the priority if saved information and the current account state disagree.
Try Meta5 EA
The recommended first step is the free MQL5 Market demo in MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester.
Test with:
-
Your broker
-
Your Gold symbol
-
M30
-
Your intended risk profile
When testing, pay attention to trading frequency, drawdown, position sizing, losing periods, risk behaviour, and trade management, not only the final profit result.
Also compare spread, commission, historical data, contract specifications, and execution conditions on your own broker.
Before using Meta5 EA with live funds, test the selected profile on the same broker's demo environment and allow enough trades to observe different market conditions.
Meta5 EA does not guarantee a specific number of trades, win rate, profit, or drawdown. Some periods can contain more valid setups than others.
Trading leveraged financial products involves substantial risk and can result in loss of capital. Historical and backtested results do not predict future performance.
For product questions or support, use the MQL5 product comments or MQL5 messaging system.
