Cooldown After Loss MT5

Stop revenge trading. After the number of losing trades in a row you choose, Cooldown After Loss pauses your trading for the minutes you choose, or until tomorrow. A new trade opened during the pause is closed at once.

After two or three losses in a row, most traders do the same thing: they open the next trade too fast, too big, to win the money back. That is how a small loss becomes a big one. This EA forces the break that you know you should take.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Attach the EA to any one chart. Choose how many losing trades in a row start the pause, and how long the pause is.
  2. Every second it reads today's trade history and counts your losses in a row. A winning trade resets the count.
  3. When the limit is reached, trading is paused. You get one alert.
  4. During the pause, a new trade is closed at once and pending orders are deleted.
  5. When the pause ends, trading is allowed again and the count starts from zero.

FEATURES

  • 1 to 50 losing trades in a row start the pause.
  • Pause in minutes, or until tomorrow (the day starts at the server hour you choose).
  • Count a loss only if it is bigger than an amount you set, so very small losses are ignored.
  • Pause the whole account, or only the symbol that lost.
  • All trades, manual trades only, or the trades of one EA (magic number).
  • Optional: also close the trades that were already open when the pause starts.
  • One alert per pause: popup and push notification to your phone.
  • Calculated from the trade history, so it keeps working after a restart of MetaTrader.

THE PANEL ON THE CHART

  • Status: TRADING ALLOWED, or PAUSED with the time trading opens again and a countdown.
  • Losses in a row, for example 1 / 2. It turns amber when one more loss starts the pause.
  • Trades today, with won and lost trades.
  • Your rule, in one line.

INSTALLATION

  1. Drag Cooldown After Loss MT5 onto any one chart (any symbol, any timeframe). One chart covers the whole account.
  2. In the Common tab, tick "Allow Algo Trading", and make sure the Algo Trading button is on.
  3. In the Inputs tab, choose the losing trades in a row and the pause. Click OK.

NOTES

  • A new day starts from zero. A trade closed during the pause does not start a new count.
  • The EA works only while MetaTrader 5 is running and connected. Use a VPS for full protection.
  • The EA never opens trades. It only closes positions and deletes pending orders.
