TREND FOLLOWING PRO EA


Trend Following Pro is an automated trend-following Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4. It uses Fast and Slow Moving Averages to determine market direction and includes a configurable mechanism for managing additional entries during price retracements.

Trading Approach

The EA evaluates the relationship between the Fast and Slow Moving Averages.

A Buy signal is generated when the Fast Moving Average crosses above the Slow Moving Average according to the configured conditions. A Sell signal is generated when the Fast Moving Average crosses below the Slow Moving Average.

After a trend has been identified, the EA can open subsequent positions if price retraces against the current trend by the configured FloatingPips distance.

This combines trend identification with a structured method for adding positions during adverse retracements.

Using the Strategy

Moving Average systems generally perform differently during trending and ranging markets. During sideways conditions, repeated crossovers can produce frequent changes in trading direction.

The additional-entry mechanism should also be considered when selecting lot size because several positions may become open during a retracement.

Risk Information

Trend-following indicators are lagging by nature and cannot identify every trend at its beginning. Rapid reversals and ranging conditions can result in losing trades or repeated crossover signals.

Additional entries can increase total account exposure if price continues moving against the identified trend. Users should evaluate the Moving Average, FloatingPips, lot-size and trade-management settings together when assessing risk.
