ASTRARIUM VAULT
13-strategy portfolio with prop firm risk controls for MetaTrader 5
Astrarium Vault is built for prop firm challenges and funded accounts. It runs the full 13-strategy portfolio on gold, Dow Jones and Nasdaq and enforces your risk rules automatically: daily loss limit, maximum loss, profit target and drawdown brake.
The idea behind the name: an astrarium is a historical instrument that tracked the movement of the heavens with mechanical precision. Astrarium Vault brings the same discipline to the market: clear rules, fixed risk, no emotions.
WHY ASTRARIUM VAULT
• Daily loss limit: when it is reached, all positions and pending orders are closed and trading pauses until the next day.
• Maximum loss guard: trading stops before the account reaches the maximum loss of your firm.
• Profit target: lock the challenge result and stop, or step up to the next target and keep growing.
• Drawdown brake: the position size is halved while the balance is well below its peak.
• Ready profiles: Challenge, Funded and Growth, or your own limits.
• The engine: 13 strategies on three markets with adaptive weights, stops on every trade, no grid, no martingale.
HOW THE PROFILES WORK
All limits are checked on every tick against equity, so open positions are always counted.
1) CHALLENGE — pass the evaluation
• Position size x2.
• Daily loss limit 4%: if equity falls 4% below the balance at the start of the day, all positions and pending orders are closed and no new trades are opened until the next trading day.
• Maximum loss 8% and profit target 10%, both measured from the starting balance.
• When equity reaches +10%, the input "When the profit target is reached" decides:
– Step up (default): the current equity becomes the new starting balance. Trading continues, the next target is another +10% and the maximum loss moves up with it, so the earlier profit is protected.
– Stop trading: all positions are closed and the EA stops. The challenge is passed.
• When equity falls 8% below the start: in Step up mode all positions are closed, the current equity becomes the new start and trading pauses until the next day; in Stop mode the EA closes everything and stops for good.
• Backtest 2020–2026, start $50,000: 64 of 81 steps reached +10% before the 8% limit (79%), the daily limit was triggered 41 times, the worst day was −4.2%, maximum drawdown −22.1%.
2) FUNDED — keep the funded account
• Position size x1, the smallest of the three.
• Daily loss limit 3% with the same rules as above.
• Maximum loss 6% of the starting balance, no profit target: the account simply keeps growing.
• Backtest 2020–2026, start $50,000: the 6% maximum loss was never reached, the daily limit was triggered 16 times, the worst day was −3.3%, maximum drawdown −12.3%, 65 of 81 months profitable.
3) GROWTH — your own account
• Position size x3, no daily limit and no maximum loss.
• Drawdown brake: while the balance is 15% or more below its peak, all positions are opened at half size. Full size returns when the balance is back within 10% of the peak.
• Backtest 2020–2026, start $50,000: the brake engaged 8 times, maximum drawdown −21.6%, worst day −8.2%, 65 of 81 months profitable.
4) CUSTOM — the exact rules of your firm
• Your own size multiplier (0.25–5), daily loss limit, maximum loss, profit target, action after the target and drawdown brake (size x0.5). Any limit set to 0 is switched off.
Starting balance. The maximum loss and the target are measured from the balance at the first launch, or from the value you enter. It is saved in the terminal, so restarts and updates do not reset it.
Position size. Positions grow with the balance: x1 / x2 / x3 multiplies the size of every strategy.
Tip: set the limits slightly tighter than the rules of your firm, so the EA always stops first.
SIMPLE SETTINGS
The strategy parameters are researched and maintained by the developer and improved through new releases. You only choose how much to risk and how to trade:
• Profile: Challenge, Funded, Growth or Custom (see above)
• When the profit target is reached: step up and keep trading, or stop
• Maximum lot and starting balance for the limits (auto by default)
• Staged unlock: strategies switch on one by one as the balance grows (on/off)
• News filter: skip high-impact US news days (on/off)
• Index symbol names used by your broker (default NAS100 and DJ30)
REQUIREMENTS
• Symbol: XAUUSD (gold), any suffix. Attach to the XAUUSD chart
• Timeframe: any, the EA uses its own internal timing
• Prop firm or own account, recommended from $10,000
• Broker with Dow Jones 30 and Nasdaq 100 CFDs (any names, set them in the inputs)
• Broker server time GMT+2 / GMT+3 (New York close, standard for most MT5 brokers)
• Hedging account (several strategies may hold positions at the same time)
• Low-spread account (ECN / Raw) recommended
• VPS recommended for uninterrupted operation
RECOMMENDATIONS
• For a prop firm challenge start with the Challenge profile and check that the limits match your firm rules.
• Attach the EA to one XAUUSD chart only. Use a different magic number if you run it on several accounts in one terminal.
• For backtests use the mode "Every tick based on real ticks".

RISK WARNING
Trading gold and indices with leverage involves a high level of risk and may not be suitable for every investor. Backtest results are from the MT5 strategy tester with real ticks and commission and do not guarantee future results. Test the EA on a demo account first and trade only with money you can afford to lose.
