Trendline Rebounce M5
- Experts
- Version: 1.2
Trendline Rebounce M5 is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor that looks for trendline retests and rejection candles on the M5 timeframe. It uses higher timeframe checks to assess the direction and structure of the market before opening an initial position.
The entry evaluation combines five conditions: EMA trend, confirmed swing structure, trendline retest, candle rejection, and RSI momentum. The default minimum entry score is four. The EMA trend and rejection candle are mandatory under the default settings.
For initial entries, the EA can check H1 trend direction, H1 trend travel, potential and confirmed H1 double top or double bottom formations, and opposing trendlines on H1 and H4. These filters may prevent an entry when the higher timeframe context does not support the M5 setup.
The optional averaging function looks for a support or resistance level after price moves against an open basket. It requires a level touch and, by default, a rejection candle before adding a position. Users can configure the lot multiplier, maximum lot, maximum basket size, and distance between entries.
Positions are managed as a basket. The EA closes its positions for the current symbol and magic number when the combined floating profit reaches the configured BasketTargetProfit. Optional basket loss, daily loss, equity drawdown, and H1 basket invalidation controls are available.
Default settings include an initial lot of 0.01, a maximum of four basket positions, an averaging multiplier of 1.30, and a basket profit target of 5.00 in account currency. The session filter and the optional loss protection controls are disabled by default. Orders are opened without an individual stop loss or take profit; exits are managed by the basket logic and any protection controls the user enables.
The EA is designed for M5 signals. Test its settings on the intended symbol, broker conditions, and account type in the Strategy Tester before use. Averaging increases exposure when price moves against the basket. Historical test results do not predict future performance.
In the attached MT5 Strategy Tester report, the EA was tested on EURUSD M5 from 1 January 2020 to 28 September 2026, using an initial deposit of USD 1000 and the settings shown in the report. The test recorded 417 trades, a net profit of USD 570.31, a 71.70% winning trade rate, and a profit factor of 5.28. History quality was 99%.
Risk is part of the result: maximum equity drawdown reached USD 211.45, or 16.58%. This test used averaging with a 1.30 lot multiplier and a maximum of six basket positions. The optional basket loss, daily loss, and equity drawdown limits were disabled in the tested settings.
The EA manages positions using a basket profit target. Its demo version can be tested in the MT5 Strategy Tester so you can review its entries, position sizing, drawdown, and behavior under your chosen test conditions.
These figures are historical simulation results, not live trading results. Execution costs, broker conditions, settings, and future market behavior can produce different outcomes, including losses.
