SFSnapback EA - the London breakout on gold, managed by a recovery engine that tells you its worst case first.

Every trading day SFSnapback measures the late-Asian range on XAUUSD and trades the first clean break of it into the European morning, long or short. Each entry is managed from the first tick by the same engine as SFRecovery v3.31: if price turns back into the range, an ATR-scaled averaging grid takes over and the whole basket exits at break-even plus your target. Before each cycle it shows how much the full grid could lose, and hard caps close the cycle if it does not come back.

NEW IN v1.10 (SEPTEMBER 2026)
v1.10 replaces the v1.00 pullback entry with the London session breakout: in the same test and at the same 0.01 lot it made about 7 times the profit of v1.00 (+2,188 vs +309 USD) with a similar drawdown (3.2% vs 2.8%). The v1.00 pullback entry is still available (InpEntryMode = 4 with the v1.00 preset). Updates are free for owners.

Continuous backtests, 10,000 USD, MT5 Strategy Tester, 1-minute OHLC:

Every calendar year was positive in both presets. The parameters were optimized on 2023-2024 only; the optimizer never saw 2025-2026, and those years stayed positive. Past results do not guarantee future results.

HOW ENTRIES WORK
1. Range: from 04:00 to 08:00 server time the EA records the high and low of the late-Asian session.
2. Break: from 08:00 to 13:00 server time, the first M15 candle that closes beyond the range by 0.4 x ATR(H1) opens the trade. No repainting.
3. One entry per day, in either direction. Days without a clean break are skipped.
4. Server time: the hours are for GMT+2 / GMT+3 brokers (the usual MT5 setup). With another offset, shift the three hour inputs.

HOW A CYCLE IS MANAGED
- ATR-scaled averaging grid, fixed lots (no martingale multiplier), up to 7 averaging orders, each level spaced wider.
- Basket exit at break-even + 25 USD per 0.01 lot; net-positive partial closes shrink the basket on the way.
- Anti-stall: a cycle that runs too long exits at any small positive result.

PROTECTION STACK (set it before you go live)
- Hard money cap per cycle: 80 USD in the Standard preset (0.8% of a 10k account), 160 USD in x2
- 3-tier circuit breaker: reduce lots, halt adds, then flatten + cooldown at 3 / 4 / 6% equity drawdown
- Absolute close from the TRUE equity peak: flatten and stop for good (never reset by cooldowns)
- Worst-case preflight: skip new entries whose full-grid worst case exceeds your % of equity (opt-in)
- Kill scope + halt guard: a protection stop can also flatten other EAs on the symbol or the account (opt-in)
- Daily equity stop and day halt after N stops, for prop-firm rules; regime gate for extreme volatility (opt-in)
- Spread, rollover, margin and exposure guards
