Consumer Price Index (CPI) ex Food & Energy m/m, or Core CPI m/m measures changes of goods and services prices in the euro area in the specified month compared to the previous one. Food, alcohol, tobacco and energy prices are excluded from the indicator due to their high volatility. The indicator is calculated from the consumer's point of view based on the data about purchased goods and services.
Core CPI is a key inflation indicator in the euro area. It is used to analyze the state of the economy in the region and assess the consumer behavior.
The current value exceeding the forecast one affects EUR positively.
