Risk Manager EA is a professional account-level risk management tool designed for prop firm traders and disciplined retail traders.
This EA does NOT trade. It works as a master risk controller that monitors your account equity and manages all other EAs and manual trades.
Supported Prop Firm Rules
- Daily Drawdown (Equity-based)
- Maximum Drawdown (Peak Equity-based)
- Daily Profit Target (Soft Lock)
- Hard Lock & Soft Lock system
- MT5 restart-safe (state is preserved)
The logic follows common rules used by prop firms.
How It Works
- Hard Lock
Triggered when Daily Drawdown or Maximum Drawdown is violated.
➜ All positions are closed
➜ All pending orders are deleted
➜ Trading is permanently blocked - Soft Lock
Triggered when Daily Profit Target is reached.
➜ New trades are blocked
➜ Existing positions can remain open (no forced close)
Equity-Based & Peak-Based Logic
- Daily Drawdown is calculated from Day Start Balance
- Maximum Drawdown is calculated from Peak Equity
- Peak Equity is never reset and is saved across MT5 restarts
This prevents common mistakes made by balance-based or floating-only risk managers.
Works With Other EAs
- Risk Manager EA communicates using a Global Variable:
- PROP_LOCKED = 1 (Trading blocked) PROP_LOCKED = 0 (Trading allowed)
- Your other EAs only need a simple check:
- if(GlobalVariableGet("PROP_LOCKED") == 1) return;
- This makes it ideal for managing multiple EAs on one account.
