The Volume Delta Grid EA is an advanced, automated trading system for MetaTrader 5 that merges institutional-style order flow concepts—specifically Relative Volume (RVOL) and Volume Delta—with dynamic grid and basket management strategies.

Rather than relying on lagging price oscillators, this EA identifies high-probability breakout and trend-continuation zones by analyzing intra-bar buying and selling pressure. It then manages the trades using a highly customizable grid system, offering both aggressive trend-following and defensive recovery modes.

🌟 Core Strategy & Signal Engine

The EA enters trades strictly on the close of a candle when a new signal is confirmed. A valid signal requires the alignment of three elements:

  1. RVOL (Relative Volume): The current bar's volume must exceed the average volume of the last X bars by a specific threshold (e.g., 1.5x normal volume), indicating institutional interest or high liquidity.

  2. Volume Delta: The EA calculates the percentage of buying versus selling volume within the bar based on price action relative to the high/low.

    • Buy Signal: Delta must be positive (buyers in control).

    • Sell Signal: Delta must be negative (sellers in control).

  3. Trend Filter: A dual-EMA (Fast/Slow) crossover system ensures the EA only takes signals in the direction of the prevailing trend.

1. Dynamic Grid Mechanics

The EA can operate as a single-shot system or a multi-level grid, adaptable to your trading style:

  • Grid Off: Trades one position per signal.

  • Trend-Add (Pyramiding): Adds new positions to a winning basket as price moves in your favor, maximizing profits on strong trends.

  • Recovery-Average: Adds positions when the price moves against you (drawdown), improving the average entry price for a quicker breakeven/profit exit.

  • Grid Spacing: Can be set to a fixed number of points or adapt dynamically to market volatility using the ATR (Average True Range).

  • Combined Trailing SL & TP: Features a unique trailing engine that not only trails the Stop Loss to lock in profits but can also push the Take Profit further away as the trend continues.

  • Profit Lock: Before the main trailing stop activates, the EA can instantly lock in a predefined small profit (breakeven + X points) as soon as the trade moves into profit.

  • Basket Exits: Manage multiple grid positions as a single entity. The EA can close the entire basket of trades based on floating Dollar ($) Profit, Dollar ($) Loss, or overall average points gained.

  • Signal Reversal: Optionally close a running basket immediately if a valid opposite signal appears.

3. Flexible Lot Sizing

  • Manual Mode: Fixed lot sizes for every trade.

  • Auto-Risk Mode: Calculates lot size based on a percentage of your account balance and the Stop Loss distance.

  • Lot Multiplier: Optional Martingale-style lot multiplication for grid levels (capped by a Max Lot safety parameter).

4. Comprehensive On-Chart Dashboard

The EA includes a built-in, non-intrusive HUD (Heads Up Display) that provides real-time analytics directly on your chart, including:

  • Current RVOL, Candle Volume, and Cumulative Delta.

  • Multi-timeframe Buy vs. Sell percentages (M15, M30, H1, H4).

  • Overall Market Trend and Current Signal status.

  • Live Grid statistics: Current Basket Levels, Total Lots, and Floating P/L for both Buy and Sell sides.
