First Candle Sessions — LDN & NY
MT5 Indicator | M1 to H1 | London and New York Sessions
Automatically marks the High, Low and 50% midpoint of the first 5-minute candle at the opening of the London and New York sessions, creating a clear visual range to trade breakouts every day without any manual work.
Buy signal: when a subsequent candle closes above the High of the first candle.
Sell signal: when a subsequent candle closes below the Low of the first candle.
No signal: when price stays inside the range, the session is still undecided.
The indicator draws a blue zone for the London opening range and an orange zone for the New York opening range. A dotted midline marks the 50% equilibrium level inside each zone. The range size in pips is displayed directly on the chart next to each zone.
A real-time information panel shows the active session, the current server time, and the High, Low and 50% values for each session. The panel can be moved to any of the four corners of the screen using the PanelCorner parameter.
The indicator resets automatically at the start of each new trading day. If MetaTrader 5 is restarted mid-session, the indicator recovers the current day range from the bar history without requiring any manual action.
Works on M1, M5, M15, M30 and H1 charts. Regardless of the chart timeframe, it always reads the first 5-minute candle from the broker history to extract the High and Low values.
Time Settings
UseLocalTime: set to true to use your PC local time, or false to use broker server time.
LondonOpenHour: London open hour in local PC time (used when UseLocalTime is true).
NewYorkOpenHour: New York open hour in local PC time (used when UseLocalTime is true).
LondonOpenServer: London open hour in broker server time (used when UseLocalTime is false).
NewYorkOpenServer: New York open hour in broker server time (used when UseLocalTime is false).
StartHour: minimum hour before which the indicator will not activate.
Visual Settings
ShowZone: enable or disable the filled color zone between High and Low.
ZoneAlpha: zone transparency. 0 is fully solid, 255 is fully invisible.
ShowMidLine: enable or disable the 50% midline inside the zone.
ShowPips: show the range size in pips next to the High label.
ShowLabels: show or hide the High, Low and 50% price labels on the chart.
LineWidth: thickness of the High and Low border lines.
Panel Settings
ShowPanel: enable or disable the information panel.
PanelCorner: position of the panel: Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left or Bottom Right.
PanelX / PanelY: pixel distance from the selected corner of the screen.
Platform: MetaTrader 5.
Timeframe: M1 to H1. The indicator always reads the first M5 candle from history regardless of the chart timeframe.
Instruments: any Forex pair, index, metal or cryptocurrency available in MetaTrader 5.
Account type: compatible with demo and live accounts.
1. Apply the indicator to any chart with a timeframe between M1 and H1.
2. Set UseLocalTime to true if you want to use your PC local time, or false to use broker server time.
3. Configure the open hours for London and New York according to your chosen time reference.
4. The indicator will draw the zones automatically after each session opens and reset at the start of the next day.
