GoldenLock

GoldenLock MT5 is an account protection utility built for traders who want an additional risk-control layer around manual trading, Expert Advisors, prop firm accounts, and personal MetaTrader 5 accounts.

It does not replace your trading strategy and it does not decide when to enter the market.

Instead, GoldenLock continuously monitors the account and can react when your configured risk limits are approached or reached.

Think of it as a separate risk-management layer between your trading strategy and your account.

GoldenLock can be used with Expert Advisors, manual trading, prop firm accounts, raw spread accounts, ECN accounts, and standard MetaTrader 5 accounts.

Account Protection

GoldenLock does not rely on only one drawdown limit.

Several protection layers can be configured depending on how you want the account managed:

• Daily Drawdown Protection

• Maximum Drawdown Protection

• Equity Drawdown Protection

• Peak Equity Protection

• Floating Loss Protection

• Daily Profit Lock

Daily drawdown protection monitors losses during the current trading day.

Maximum drawdown protection monitors larger account-level losses.

Equity protection can react to real-time account equity, including floating profit and loss from open positions.

Peak equity protection monitors how far current equity has fallen from its highest recorded level.

Floating loss protection can restrict how much unrealized loss is allowed on the account.

Daily Profit Lock can protect part of a profitable trading day after a configured profit level has been reached.

Warning and Lock Levels

GoldenLock can provide several stages of protection before the configured account limit is reached.

• Warning Level

• Critical Level

• GoldenLock

The Warning Level gives an early indication that account risk is increasing.

The Critical Level provides a stronger warning when the account is getting closer to the configured limit.

GoldenLock activates the configured protection action when the selected threshold is reached.

Warning and critical percentages can be adjusted from the inputs.

When a protection limit is reached, GoldenLock can be configured to:

• Close open positions

• Delete pending orders

• Block new exposure while locked

• Continue closing new exposure if another EA attempts to trade while protection remains active

This allows GoldenLock to operate as an independent account-risk control layer rather than as another trading strategy.

Equity and Daily Profit Protection

Balance alone does not show the complete account situation while positions are open.

GoldenLock can monitor live account equity so floating profit and loss can be included in the protection logic.

It can also track peak equity and measure how much equity has been given back from that peak.

The optional Daily Profit Lock activates after daily equity reaches a configured profit level.

Once active, GoldenLock monitors the decline from the daily equity peak and can react if the configured amount of profit is given back.

Dashboard and Alerts

GoldenLock includes an on-chart dashboard designed to show important account-risk information without requiring you to search through multiple menus.

The dashboard can display:

Daily Reset and Trade Control

Daily drawdown tracking can automatically reset using the configured server time.

Available reset controls include:

• Reset Hour

• Reset Minute

• Automatic Daily Unlock

This is useful when your broker or trading program uses a specific server-time reset instead of your local midnight.

GoldenLock can protect the entire account or limit its trade actions to a specific Expert Advisor.

Available trade-control modes include:

• Entire Account

• Match EA Magic Number

Entire Account protection includes manual trades and all Expert Advisors on the account.

Magic Number matching limits GoldenLock's trade actions to positions associated with the selected EA.

If your Expert Advisor uses a Magic Number, enter the same Magic Number in GoldenLock when you want protection to apply specifically to that EA.

For account-wide or prop firm drawdown protection, Entire Account is usually the most complete option because account limits generally apply to the full account.

Setup

1. Attach GoldenLock MT5 to one chart.

2. Configure your Daily Drawdown, Maximum Drawdown, and Equity Protection limits.

3. Check whether your Expert Advisor uses a Magic Number.

4. Enter the same Magic Number in GoldenLock if you want protection limited to that EA.

5. Choose Entire Account if you want account-wide protection.

6. Enable the protection layers and alerts you want to use.

7. Confirm the correct broker or prop firm reset time before using GoldenLock on the account.

EA, Prop Firm and Personal Account Use

GoldenLock can operate alongside an existing Expert Advisor.

Your trading EA can continue handling entries, exits, and strategy logic while GoldenLock independently monitors the account-risk limits you have configured.

This makes it useful when you already have a trading system but want a separate account-level protection utility.

GoldenLock is also designed around common drawdown and account-risk concepts used by many EA-friendly prop firms.

Daily loss limits, maximum drawdown, equity protection, floating loss control, and account locking can be configured according to the rules you need to follow.

Prop firm rules vary between companies, account types, and programs.

Always check the exact rules of your own prop firm and configure GoldenLock accordingly.
