The Gold Phantom

I have been running this live for a bit over 2 months now, and it is one of the best performing gold EAs I have, and I have many gold EAs. Even at 0.01 lots, it has been making me money over EAs with much larger position sizes. Even this past month where other EAs are taking large losses, sometimes full accounts being blown, Gold Phantom is exceling. It's pretty amazing to be honest. I love how it has a set SL/TP for every trade, so you know the trades cannot go into heavy unexpected DD all of a sudden, even when the terminal is shut off after a trade is entered. It is not grid/Martingale, so I have little worry for it. Highly recommended.

"Gold Phantom is my very first EA, so I’m still a complete newbie when it comes to automated trading. Everything felt a bit overwhelming at first, but Wim has been very kind and helpful. He answered all my questions (and there were a lot!) really quickly and helped me get everything set up. After testing it on a demo account for a while, I decided to go live with both Gold Phantom and the free Gold Reaper that came with it. Both EAs performed great in the first week—they actually already covered the cost of Gold Phantom in the first week! Since then, there have been some slower periods, but it’s very reassuring to see how well they manage risk. Even when there have been more losing trades than winning ones recently, the losses stay minimal, and the overall balance is still in the green. Overall, I am happy with the EAs' performance over the last few weeks. I will continue to see how profitable they can be in the coming months. Thanks to Wim for these EAs!"

It wouldn't be fair to call this a 'Bad' EA - It's not gonna make you go broke or anything. The problem is its not exactly a great EA either. I'll break it down... The EA trades very little. Sometimes not at all for a full week. In the 2 months I've been running it, I'm essentially break even. While I understand that trading is 'long term'. Fact is to even make the money back you pay for this EA you will be waiting a year or more, unless you're running a respectably high balance, 10k plus. I'm fortunate I got this EA on day 2 of release for just 99 dollars. But I havn't even made that back in profit yet in 2 months.. I've disabled the EA as of today - simple reason being, I'd rather use that Equity in some of my other far more lucrative EA's. There are EA's out there that make profit week in and week out. And no they're not all grid/martingale EA's. I've mentioned it on many reviews now, but AOT is the shining star among all the MQL5 EA's. Profitable consistently, priced extremely reasonably. We need more EA's like this. Ultimately, as above, Gold Phantom isn't 'bad' or an account blower. but the 1k equity ive had sitting with this EA would have made far more use in other EA's.

The combination of Phantom and Reaper, set to "moderate," brought me approximately 8% account growth in February's live trading, demonstrating excellent risk control. However, I must honestly point out a potential issue with these (and likely most breakout EAs developed by WIM) – pending orders. Specifically, when prices approach a key breakout level on Friday, pending orders cannot be cancelled over the weekend. This raises the concern that if prices gap up the following week, these orders will be forced to be executed at a slippage. This is arguably the biggest drawdown risk in WIM's breakout systems. In fact, this week's gold closing price already approached an upper breakout level. If prices gap up on Monday, these orders will be executed at a poor price, lowering the expected risk-reward ratio. Therefore, I suggest WIM optimize for this situation. Perhaps consider storing key price ranges within the EA and executing market orders when the price reaches them. In my understanding, this could effectively avoid weekend gaps. Of course, I am a novice trader, and I welcome any better insights you may have. Knowledge and experience are always the most reliable shield in the trading market, and I am eager to hear the trading philosophy of someone with truly successful EA development experience. In summary, based on logic, live trading signals, and historical backtesting data, Phantom is a very good strategy that can maintain stable long-term growth. It's also insensitive to account spreads, making it much stronger than scalping strategies with extremely high spread requirements. The only issue to be aware of when using these strategies is anticipating drawdowns. However, backtesting shows that its expected drawdowns are quite healthy and acceptable. If all else fails, you could find suitable scalping strategies to hedge against Wim's strategy, which might produce a smoother growth curve. I should invest more capital in such a reliable strategy to achieve higher returns :-). Overall, Wim is doing a great job, keep it up!

I must have gotten a diff product than the rest of these guys. 18K account, breakeven for the month. Gold has been acting funny, so maybe that is it. I generally expect after 3-4 weeks to earn back the price of the EA, not the case here so far. I should have done more research prior to purchasing and that's on me. I listened to the "he's done it again" comments. I would not repurchase in this price range. Seems well built and is extremely active opening and closing orders all the time, but there are better more reliable and productive EAs out there in this price range.

This Gold Phantom has just about the perfect negative correlation with the Gold Reaper. I can’t believe you pulled this off — incredible work! A legendary developer!

Good EA, it opens few trades, but they are accurate.

One month live: stable behaviour, normal drawdowns, recovery works if you don’t interfere. Third EA from Wim, realistic trading style, not a magic robot.

I purchased the EA with not really any expectations as I am a complete newbie using anything like this. I had so much trouble setting it up, Wim was very helpful and I eventually got it up and running without much effort. I am using the bot on a medium risk strategy and can confirm that today my first few buy orders were profitable. What I found interesting was that the SL was dynamic in the sense that once I got into profit, it was moved up so when gold did eventually drop as expected before the NFP release, it stopped me out in profit. It is still early days and usually I would wait a little longer to review the product as I have a very small sample size, however I can confirm that it does work. Thanks Wim, keep up the good work.

People who are releasing such negative reviews after the bot being so recently released clearly have an agenda or are just plain stupid, ignore these attention seeking idiots, they would complain if you gave them free money.

I can see this running on my trading account for years to come. The EA can be used on it's own or as a part of a set with his other 3 gold EA's. I'm running all 4 with adjusted risk settings and very comfortable with letting it sit and do its thing. The author is very supportive and the community is lively.

Very dangerously for traders who need the money they are investing. If you are starting in a bad moment the EA will kill your account because of a series of SL hits. It´s gambling.

Bought it, from day 1. One win (very small) and many many losses. I think it IS scam. It opens non-stop pending orders (like 12-13), with some "unbelievable" ranges, and, when reaches them (very rare) they are blowers. Never seen such bad EA....sorry that I was not aware of that. Sorry that I was mislead (not possible to leave minus stars...)

I think this EA is one of the most robust systems Wim has ever developed. Most of his algorithms have remained profitable for years, and when some of his algo's performance worsened due to changing market conditions, he successfully adapted them. He's one of the OG's sellers and cares about the people that buy his algo's 👌. Wim please make a silver ea!

The Gold Phantom is a really nice EA. I already use The gold reaper, and in my opinion the gold phantom take less risk and secure your trades really quickly. Many thanks to Wim with this new EA !

In my opinion, Wim is by far one of the best MQL5 developers on the platform. In a marketplace unfortunately full of fraudulent EAs and fake developers using tricks like manipulated backtests or history readers, Wim clearly stands out. He is one of the very few honest and transparent developers I’ve encountered on MQL5. You can verify it yourself: his systems have real, long-term track records on Myfxbook, and you can also ask directly the many users who are running these EAs live. Gold Phantom is a solid, well-designed system, built with a real trader’s mindset, not marketing tricks.
