Chart Pattern Atlas is a visual chart-pattern analysis Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5. It detects, scores, ranks and draws market structures directly on your chart, then follows each detected pattern as it evolves.
ATLAS is built for traders who want to spend less time manually searching for chart formations and more time evaluating clearly organized market structure.
It is an analysis EA: ATLAS does not open, modify or close trades. Trading decisions and execution remain entirely under your control.
More than a pattern label
ATLAS does not simply place the name of a formation on the chart.
The engine analyzes confirmed price swings, geometric relationships, ATR-based tolerances, symmetry and market context. Detected structures are then ranked and displayed directly on the chart together with their current analytical state.
Up to 3 pivot scales can operate simultaneously on the same chart, allowing ATLAS to evaluate market structure at different swing sensitivities without requiring several separate instances.
Each detected structure receives a 0–100 geometry score derived from pattern fit, symmetry and context.
The score represents the geometric quality of the detected structure according to the ATLAS engine. It is not a probability of profit or a predicted win rate.
42 pattern types
ATLAS includes 42 detector types, with bullish and bearish variants where applicable:
- Classical structures: Double Top, Double Bottom, Triple Top, Triple Bottom, Head and Shoulders, Inverse Head and Shoulders, Ascending Triangle, Descending Triangle, Symmetrical Triangle, Rectangle, Rising Wedge, Falling Wedge, Rising Channel, Falling Channel, Broadening Formation, Bullish Flag, Bearish Flag, Bullish Pennant and Bearish Pennant. Harmonic structures: bullish and bearish AB=CD, Gartley, Bat, Butterfly, Crab, Deep Crab and Cypher. Experimental-labelled structures: Rounding Bottom, Rounding Top, Cup with Handle, Inverted Cup with Handle, Diamond, Elliott I5 Up/Down and Elliott ABC Up/Down.
Experimental detectors are clearly marked [EXP]. Elliott detection is disabled by default and can be enabled from the inputs.
Follow the pattern lifecycle
A chart pattern is not useful only at the moment it is discovered. ATLAS keeps following its state as new closed bars become available.
A structure can move through:
STRUCTURE → BREAKOUT → RETEST → TARGET REACHED
or become:
INVALIDATED / EXPIRED
Fresh breakouts are confirmed from closed prices. After a breakout, ATLAS can display a measured-height geometric projection, an invalidation level and a detected retest when the required conditions are met.
These levels are analytical references generated from the detected structure. They are not guaranteed price targets.
Animated visual dashboard
ATLAS includes a custom animated dashboard designed to keep the most useful information visible without covering the entire chart.
The dashboard displays the number of active patterns, breakout/retest states, patterns currently drawn, bullish/bearish directional distribution, the highest-ranked structure, its geometry score, direction and state, a ranked pattern list, ATR information and engine status.
The interface also includes smooth visual animations, an activity sparkline, animated score gauge, compact/expanded mode and a MOTION ON/OFF control.
The dashboard can be switched directly between English and French.
Its position and width can be configured, and the panel automatically adapts when chart space becomes limited.
Pattern ranking and chart clarity
Multiple valid structures can sometimes coexist on the same chart.
ATLAS ranks detected patterns for display and can suppress overlapping structures pointing in the same direction, helping keep the chart readable.
You can configure the maximum number of displayed structures, show or hide inactive patterns, display pivots, enable or disable geometric projections and adjust the main detection filters.
Configurable detection engine
Detection sensitivity can be adapted to different instruments and trading styles through parameters including pivot strength, number of simultaneous scales, maximum pattern span, pattern lifetime, ATR tolerance, minimum structure height, breakout margin, minimum geometry score and harmonic ratio tolerance.
Classical, harmonic, rounded experimental and Elliott experimental detection families can also be enabled or disabled independently.
Higher-timeframe context
ATLAS includes a configurable SMA20 / SMA50 directional context calculated from a separate timeframe, with H4 selected by default.
This context can contribute to pattern ranking and analysis without changing the chart timeframe being analyzed.
Please note that this is a context filter, not a multi-timeframe pattern scanner.
One ATLAS instance analyzes the symbol and timeframe of the chart on which it is running.
Closed-bar analysis
Pattern calculations are performed using closed bars.
Swing pivots require confirmation from bars on both sides of the pivot. This means that pivot-based structures are intentionally recognized only after the configured confirmation window has completed.
ATLAS therefore does not claim to predict an unconfirmed future pivot.
Breakout alerts
Optional MetaTrader terminal alerts can be enabled for freshly confirmed breakouts.
Historical replay and catch-up processing do not generate artificial historical breakout alerts.
CSV audit and research
ATLAS can optionally export detected pattern events to CSV for users who want to review the engine's activity outside the chart.
Exported information includes timestamps, pattern type, scale, state changes, direction, geometry score, fit, symmetry, context score, ATR, pattern geometry, projection, invalidation level and pattern anchors.
Historical replay export can also be enabled separately.
Optional ONNX integration
Advanced users can optionally connect ATLAS to a compatible external ONNX scoring model.
ONNX integration is disabled by default and the normal geometric detection engine remains fully functional without it.
No trained ONNX model is included with ATLAS.
This function is provided as an optional integration point for users who want to experiment with their own compatible ranking model.
Designed for discretionary analysis
ATLAS is intended for chart-pattern traders, harmonic-pattern traders and technical analysts who want pattern detection, visual structure, ranking and lifecycle information while retaining full responsibility for trading decisions.
There is no automatic order execution and no automatic money management.
