"We have not been here since August." Traders say it all the time, usually after scrolling back through the chart to check. Price Last Seen does the scrolling for you: for the last close, and for the levels around it, it shows when price last traded there.

Many closes are at familiar prices

Over the last 2000 closes, this share of closes was at a level price had visited within the 10 bars before:

MarketSeen within 10 barsTypical time away
Gold (H1)66%6 bars
EURUSD (M15)63%7 bars
USDJPY (H4)59%8 bars
US500 (D1)55%7 days

And some are brand-new

On US500 daily, 15% of the last 2000 closes were at prices never traded before in the loaded history (since August 2012). The indicator labels these "never higher" instead of a date.

What you see

  1. A dot on the last bar that traded at today's price, with its date, and a dashed line from there to now.
  2. Six dotted levels around price, half an ATR apart, each with its own "last seen".
  3. Pink for levels not seen for 250 bars or more, or never.
  4. A panel with the same figures and how long the current visit has lasted.

The fine print

A bar traded at a price when the price is between its low and its high. The bars of the current visit are skipped, so the answer is the visit before. The search covers all the history your terminal has loaded; with more history, the answer can reach further back.
