Traders frequently face execution timing challenges during market pullbacks. Observing a corrective retracement within an established trend often prompts premature entries before price finds structural stabilization, resulting in avoidable stop-outs. Conversely, waiting too long means missing the reversal pivot entirely, forcing late entries into extended moves at poor risk-to-reward locations. Corrective wicks around equilibrium levels further shake out undisciplined positions, while uncertainty regarding structural support causes hesitation at optimal continuation points. HalfwayBackTrend addresses this structural timing problem directly on the chart. The algorithm measures the primary impulse swing to project the 50 percent equilibrium zone, tracking order flow until price confirms rejection and directional velocity resumes. Rather than guessing the depth of a correction, the system signals entries only when price respects the midpoint structure and momentum confirms trend resumption. Shallow consolidations and overextended, failed pullbacks are systematically filtered out, leaving clean visual cues backed by structural confluence.

Section 2: Entry Logic and Trade Management
When an established upward trend structure is validated and price prints a decisive bullish expansion candle after retesting the midpoint equilibrium zone, HalfwayBackTrend confirms trend continuation with a green arrow. The trade execution trigger occurs on the open of the subsequent candle. The setup functions symmetrically for short positions: when downward order flow prevails and a strong bearish candle breaks structure away from a retested midpoint level, a red arrow forms for an entry on the next candle open.
The indicator automatically calculates a Stop Loss beyond the most recent structural swing high or low, incorporating a volatility buffer to give the trade adequate room to breathe without excessive risk exposure. Trade management utilizes a disciplined 4-tier Take Profit ladder:
- TP1 at 0.5R: Structured for early risk reduction and initial partial profit realization.
- TP2 at 0.8R: Targets standard continuation moves within typical market volatility.
- TP3 at 1.2R: Engineered to capture extended momentum phases.
- TP4 at 2.0R: Serves as an extended runner target during sustained, high-momentum trends.
Signals follow a non-repainting calculation model. Once a candle completes and closes, the signal arrow, Stop Loss, and all Take Profit levels lock permanently onto the chart. Values do not recalculate, shift, or disappear on subsequent bars.
