Stop Trading Against the Dominant Side of the Market
Retail traders frequently enter positions against prevailing momentum, resulting in avoidable stop-outs. Buying into dominant selling pressure or selling into established buying phases repeatedly places trades on the wrong side of market flow. Furthermore, normal corrective wicks can trigger stop losses when positions conflict with the underlying trend, leading to hesitation when genuine continuation setups form. The fundamental issue is entering without verifying which side holds directional control.
DiPlusDominance is engineered to identify this balance of market pressure directly on the chart. The algorithm evaluates directional movement to detect when either buyers or sellers demonstrate sustained control, signaling setups only when momentum thresholds are confirmed. Conflicting micro-fluctuations and weak counter-trend retracements are filtered out, leaving structured visual cues aligned with prevailing market participation. The chart provides an objective assessment of directional control and timing.
This indicator performs best during active market sessions on liquid instruments. Markets characterized by sustained volume and trend progression provide the ideal conditions for identifying directional expansion and follow-through moves.
Section 2: Entry Logic and Trade Management
When an upward directional structure is confirmed and price action prints a dominant bullish expansion candle while buying pressure maintains control, DiPlusDominance confirms momentum and places a green arrow. The entry trigger corresponds to the open of the subsequent candle. The setup applies symmetrically to short positions: when downward momentum prevails and a dominant bearish candle breaks structure while selling pressure controls the market, a red arrow forms for an entry on the next candle open.
The indicator automatically calculates a Stop Loss beyond the most recent structural swing high or low, incorporating a volatility buffer to accommodate standard market noise. A structured 4-tier Take Profit ladder is established for systematic trade management:
- TP1 at 0.5R: Structured for early risk reduction and partial profit-taking.
- TP2 at 0.8R: Captures standard directional swings under normal market volatility.
- TP3 at 1.2R: Engineered to capture extended momentum moves.
- TP4 at 2.0R: Serves as an extended runner target during sustained, high-momentum trends.
Signals follow a non-repainting calculation model. Once a candle closes, the signal arrow, Stop Loss, and all Take Profit levels lock permanently onto the chart. They do not recalculate, shift, or disappear on subsequent bars.

- Requires a minimum R-distance before the next signal can trigger.

A built-in panel summarizes how signals performed on historical data for the current settings:
- Historical hit-rate breakdown across TP1, TP2, TP3, and TP4.
- Sample size shown for the configured lookback period.
- Highlights which TP level had the best historical hit-rate for that sample.
