Gold and Tech DUO MT5 trades two markets from one chart: the Nasdaq 100 (US100) and gold (XAUUSD). Attach it to either chart and the other one opens by itself. It is tailored for prop firms and takes long trades only.
HOW IT TRADES
- Long only: it buys and never sells short, on both markets.
- Several independent entry rules on each market: pullbacks, breakouts and trend followers.
- A stop loss on every trade, placed together with the order.
- Gold trades smaller after big Nasdaq moves, to limit losses when both markets swing hard.
- Never holds a trade through the daily break (17:00-18:00 New York) or over the weekend: it sells before the close and buys back after, so it pays no swap and weekend gaps can't hit an open trade.
RISK CONTROL, BUILT FOR PROP-FIRM RULES
- Daily loss limit: 4.5% of the account size by default, counted from the day's starting balance.
- Maximum drawdown: 9% of the account size by default. If it is reached, the EA closes its trades and stops until you restart it.
- Automatic lot size: the lots follow the two limits you set. Lower limits mean smaller lots.
- News filter: no open trades from 3 minutes before to 3 minutes after the major US releases you switch on (FOMC, NFP, CPI, GDP and FOMC minutes by default).
WORKS ON YOUR BROKER
- Finds the US100 and gold symbols by name (US100, NAS100, USTEC, XAUUSD, GOLD and similar), or you type them in.
- Reads the broker's server clock automatically.
- Converts the lots to your broker's contract size.
- Checks free margin and lot limits before every order.
- Needs a hedging account (most brokers and prop firms use one).
CLEAN, SIMPLE INPUTS
The settings window is short and written in plain English. Each input says what it does and what its default means right in its name, so you can set the EA up without a manual. Everything sits in four groups: Symbols, Risk, Broker and News rule.
There are no lot sizes to work out and nothing to optimize. Set your account size, your daily loss limit and your maximum drawdown, and the EA sizes every trade for you. The defaults sit under the usual prop-firm limits of 5% a day and 10% in total, so most traders only check the account size and the daily reset time.
Symbols
- NQ symbol / Gold symbol: leave empty and the EA finds them by name, or type your broker's names (for example US100.cash, XAUUSD).
- Trade NQ / Trade gold: switch either market off.
- Open the other symbol's chart: shows the second market's trades on its own chart.
Risk
- Account size: 0 takes your balance when the EA first runs. For a prop account, type the account size (for example 100000).
- Daily loss limit (default 4.5%): when the day's loss reaches it, the EA stops until the next day. 0 turns it off.
- New day starts: FTMO (midnight Prague) or a New York time such as 17:00. Match your prop firm's daily reset.
- Max drawdown (default 9%): when equity falls this far below the account size, the EA stops for good. Remove it and attach it again to restart. 0 turns it off.
- At a limit close all trades: true closes everything at a limit; false keeps the open trades and only stops new ones.
Broker
- Server clock: Automatic works on any broker. Change it only if the times look wrong.
- Server UTC offset: used only with the fixed-offset clock.
- US100 symbol for the NQ-move rule: leave empty to use the NQ symbol.
News rule
- News rule on/off, minutes before (default 3) and minutes after (default 3).
- One switch per release. FOMC decision, FOMC minutes, NFP, CPI and GDP are on by default; PPI, PCE, retail sales, ISM, JOLTS, ADP, jobless claims and Fed speeches are ready to switch on.
- More releases: add your own dates as yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm (New York time), separated by commas.
The lots have no input on purpose: they always follow the daily loss limit and the maximum drawdown. At the defaults that is 6.62 US100 lots and 0.66 gold lots per $100,000 on FTMO contract sizes.
SET-UP IN FOUR STEPS
- Attach the EA to a US100 or XAUUSD chart (any timeframe).
- Turn on Algo Trading.
- Leave the account size at 0 (it takes your balance) or type your prop account size.
- Set your daily loss limit and maximum drawdown. The lots adjust by themselves.
