Bullion Trend Rider is a trend-following Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD) on the M15 timeframe. It reads market structure the way Smart Money Concepts traders do: it tracks swing highs and lows, waits for a break of structure to confirm the trend, and then trades from the order block that started the move.
It is designed to capture large directional moves, aiming for a few big winning trades rather than many small ones. Please read Trading style before buying.
HOW IT TRADES
- Detects swing highs and lows with a fractal filter
- Confirms the trend when a candle closes beyond the last swing (break of structure)
- Marks the last opposite candle before the impulse as the order block
- Enters in the direction of the trend when price trades into the order block and a confirmation candle closes
- Never trades against the current trend
RISK MANAGEMENT
- Every trade is opened with a hard stop loss and take profit
- Stop loss is placed beyond the order block plus an ATR-based buffer
- Position size is calculated from a fixed percentage of balance
- Separate reward-to-risk ratios for buys and sells
- Daily loss limit: no new trades after a set realised loss for the day
- Limit on the number of simultaneous positions
- No martingale, no grid, no averaging down, no hedging
TRADING STYLE
- Built for trending gold. The EA is at its best when gold trends strongly, as it did from 2024 to 2026. In sideways markets it trades less and results can be flat or negative. This is normal for any trend-following system.
- Small losses, big winners. Win rate is about 33%, but the average win is 4.9 times the average loss. Short losing streaks are a normal part of the strategy.
- Quality over quantity. The EA only trades clear market structure, so it can stay out of the market for weeks or even months while it waits for the next strong move.
- Follows the trend in both directions. During the 2024-2026 uptrend almost all trades were buys.
- The backtest includes spread only. Swap and commission from your broker apply.
- Past results do not guarantee future results.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Symbol: XAUUSD (any broker suffix)
- Timeframe: M15
- Account type: hedging
- Deposit: minimum 400 USD. 10,000 USD or more is needed to trade at the default 1.5% risk (see Small accounts below).
- Small accounts: if the lot size calculated from your risk setting is below your broker's minimum lot, the EA opens the minimum lot instead. At current gold volatility stop losses are often 20 to 90 USD per 0.01 lot, so on small accounts the real risk per trade can be much higher than the risk setting.
- Use a broker with low spreads on gold.
- A VPS is recommended.

- Swing left / right bars - fractal settings for swing detection (default 2 / 2; keep left bars no greater than right bars + 1)
- Order block lookback - how far back to search for the order block
- Risk percent - risk per trade as a percentage of balance
