Core Strategy and Optional Features
The core technical strategy operates without external API keys. All optional data features are disabled by default.
FRED and Macro AI can affect entry decisions when enabled. Trading Economics and FinBERT currently provide monitoring only; they do not generate or filter trade entries.
1. FRED Macro Filter
FRED provides economic data from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
To configure:
- Obtain a FRED API key.
- Set Enable_FRED_Macro to true .
- Enter your key in FRED_API_Key .
- Allow https://api.stlouisfed.org in MT5 WebRequest settings.
FRED scoring works without an AI provider.
2. Optional Macro AI Confirmation
This feature requires enabled, ready FRED data. It requests additional confirmation for borderline FRED scores of 3 or 4.
Configure:
- Enable_Macro_AI_Fallback
- AI_API_URL — the full Chat Completions endpoint
- AI_Model — the provider’s model ID
- AI_API_Key — your provider credentials
Tested configuration: QwenCloud with qwen3-30b-a3b-instruct-2507 .
Provider compatibility must be checked individually. API errors or invalid responses block candidates that require AI confirmation. Provider charges and availability depend on your account.
3. Optional Trading Economics News Monitoring
Enter your own Trading Economics API credentials in TE_API_Key and enable Enable_TE_News_Shadow .
Allow https://api.tradingeconomics.com in MT5 WebRequest settings.
API access depends on your provider subscription and permissions. This feature is for news monitoring only.
4. Optional FinBERT Sentiment Monitoring
FinBERT requires separate model files and an external Python tokenizer. Additional installation is required.
The ONNX model runs inside MT5 and reads token data prepared by the external helper. Its sentiment output is currently for observation and logging only.
Strategy Tester and Live Operation
MT5 does not support WebRequest calls in the Strategy Tester. Standard backtests therefore bypass the online FRED and Macro AI entry gate and do not retrieve live Trading Economics news.
Standard backtests do not demonstrate the trading effect of the optional online filters.
For live or demo use, open:
Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → Allow WebRequest for listed URL
Add the FRED, Trading Economics, and selected AI provider domains as required.
Risk and Privacy
Risk controls cannot guarantee a maximum loss. Gaps, slippage, liquidity, and broker execution can affect stop orders and realized losses.
API credentials are configured in your terminal and sent to their respective providers for authentication. Macro AI requests send selected economic observations and trade context to the configured AI endpoint.
Review the manual and screenshots, and test your chosen configuration on a demo account before live use. Historical results do not guarantee future performance.
