Overview

MA ATR Trader MT5 is a fully automated Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 based on a structured moving average crossover strategy combined with adaptive ATR-based risk management.

The EA is designed for traders who prefer transparent logic, configurable risk control, and consistent execution rather than aggressive or high-risk trading approaches.

No martingale. No grid. No hedging.

Trading Logic

  • Trades are opened when a fast moving average crosses a slower moving average

  • Entries are filtered by a higher timeframe trend condition to avoid counter-trend trades

  • Trade execution is performed only on new candles to reduce market noise and false signals

The strategy logic is rule-based and does not repaint.

Risk & Trade Management

MA ATR Trader MT5 includes multiple configurable risk management options:

  • Stop Loss is calculated dynamically using the Average True Range (ATR)

  • Take Profit is based on a user-defined Risk/Reward ratio

  • Position sizing can be set as:

    • Fixed lot size, or

    • Percentage risk per trade based on account balance

  • Optional break-even functionality moves Stop Loss to entry once a predefined profit level is reached

All risk parameters are fully adjustable by the user.

  • Higher timeframe trend filter (user-selectable timeframe and period)

  • Trading hours filter to avoid low-liquidity market conditions

  • One active position per symbol to maintain controlled exposure
