Алгоритм этой системы основан на индикаторе Alligator Билла Уильямса.

Индикатор представляет собой челюсть, зубы и губы Аллигатора. Он предназначен для подтверждения наличия тренда, а также его направления. Как и со всеми скользящими средними, первой двигается короткая (зеленая), за ней следует средняя (красная), а затем длинная (синяя) линия. Создатель осциллятора Билл Уильямс использовал 13, 8 и 5-периодные скользящие средние, смещенные вперед на 8, 5 и 3 периодов, соответственно. Как правило, используются синий, красный и зеленый цвета, соответственно.

Аллигатор отдыхает, когда три средних переплетаются в узком диапазоне. Чем более отдаляются средние, тем скорее произойдет движение цены. Если скользящие средние продолжают движение вверх (зеленая, а за ней красная и синяя), это указывает на возникновение восходящего тренда, который интерпретируется как сигнал на покупку. Средние, идущие друг за другом вниз в обратном порядке являются сильным сигналом надвигающегося нисходящего тренда, который интерпретируется как сигнал на продажу.
